It was a well played match with little intervention from WGT.  Ken (Jumper281) got out of the gate first.  It was a close match to the last hole.

just played zant and got well beaten 3&2. nice round very good player and guy.

i do think it is a bit of a disadvantage playing on champ greens. some of the breaks were slightly more than i was used to. but having said that it would have made no difference to the result in this match but it might in others. thx zant enjoyed it.

I think in future the legend v tour legend green speed needs to be looked at. it was a clear disadvantage it took me 3 or 4 greens to get used to them by this time i was to far behind against a player of zants quality. its different to when legends play tour masters because you can practice tourney greens but you cant practice champ greens. as i said i dont think it would have made a difference to my result and this is by no means sour grapes. i think the result would have been the same but a lot closer.

Appreciate your comments Terry but I'd say that most people have had enough exposure to championship greens to have a fair idea of how they run. I don't doubt that the TL's have a small advantage given they play on them for every ranked round but I wouldn't say it was so dramatic that it necessitated a rule change for this tourney. I'll keep it in mind for future MP tourneys (if I recover from running this tour that is ;) ).

i dont ever play champ greens and it took 3-4 holes to get used to the extra breaks. if you look at zant post you see the putting is mentioned. anyway not to worry.

16 first round matches played; 16 still to come. You've got until Sunday afternoon to get your matches played (I'm sure I'll allow it to run by a few hours if necessary) but I want all second round matches ready to go by Sunday night GMT. Please contact one of the Tour management by tomorrow (Friday 7th September) if you are struggling to get things organised.

2nd round matches need to be completed by a week, Friday (14th September). There's a number of R2 pairings sorted now so you've got plenty of time to get organised but don't cut it too tight as keeping forward momentum with a MP tournament is always useful.

    Thanks

    James

WigerToods2010 wins our match 1up. It's fair to say that both played pretty terribly but I stunk up the course that little bit extra than Johnny. No excuses as it's my fault that I've not played for the past week. Good luck for the rest of the tournament J.

Sneaked it on the last with a bird. Thanks for game, James.

Terrific tussle vs Starsandros. Feel a bit fortunate to get through after the 1st extra hole where Alessandro's putt just lipped out. Top bloke to play against, thanks

Thanks Ally, was a funny match against a real gentleman and great player. You deserved to win with that clutch birdie at the first extra hole. Hope to play with you again soon. Good luck to you for the rest of the touney and to everybody who's still in play.

    Alessandro

Our no.1 seed books the first spot in the 3rd round. As soon as Steven or Jacko are through, go ahead and look to get your match played Ally. You're well ahead of schedule but it's better to keep it that way.

For those who are struggling, in-case for whatever reason you can't get in-touch with one of the Tour Managers, please use the following method to get your match played (Round 1):

Legend vs. Legend (both can play RG's) = use Legend BPB Back 9 Ready Go. Both players must take a screenshot of their card and send it to me (without disclosing details to their opponent). I'll then post the two cards together with the end result.

Legend vs. Legend (one player can't play RG's) = each uses a designated marker to play BPB B9. Cards are taken and then posted in the same way above.

Legend vs. Tour Legend (both can play RG's) = use Best of Strokeplay B9 Ready Go. Both players must take a screenshot of their card and send it to me (without disclosing details to their opponent). I'll then post the two cards together with the end result.
