  Round 1 for myself & HolmeyHacker. Holmey never got the putter going, whereas I was draining everything early - made the difference.

  Match with my good friend and fellow CC member BK.

  Excellent start by BK with a birdie on the 10th, but I managed to level on 11 after BK's tough putt from behind the pin just slid by the hole.

  Then I got an huge stroke of luck on 12, holing for Eagle from 216 yards, with BK about 5ft away for birdie.

  Then on 14 we both had dodgy meter's for our tee shots, before BK's par putt got a harsh meter stop on him pulling it by the edge :(

  Always feels strange to win a hole when my opponent has a horrible meter on a short putt for a halve.

  Halve on 15 with birdies and a birdie halve on 16 also.

  With myself dormie 2 on the 17th tee, I went 18ft long behind the pin before BK slammed his shot into 2ft to take the hole when my putt missed.

  Both finding the fairway on 18, although mine only just with a helpful members bounce away from the rough, BK into just under 6ft and mine just under 8ft, fortunately I was able to hole my putt to take the win.

  it was a GREAT match Ryan....and yes that hole out to the back pin from 216 on 12 (with me already 5 ft away) was SUPERB!

  at least i correctly predicted a member of the YBRCC would advance to round 2! :)

  Interesting match vs dougsda - ul bounces for doug first several holes and ul bounce off the stick for me at 17.  Many well played shots though too.

  Nine first round matches remain; I think a few of these will need to use RG's to get played so please keep me updated on how you're getting on.

  A few shocks yesterday with Saltiresfan taking out no.9 seed xxXxMarcxXxx and the Trophy Master, WigerToods2010 beating his boss, Jimbean346. It's fair to say Johnny shouldn't be expecting a Christmas bonus this year ;)

  Lots of R2 pairings in-place now so crack on and get your matches arranged.
