Unreal shot to stop it that quickly from 214 yards and then run back down the hill. Please tell me that was your 5th shot lol.

The more I think about it the more I realize for me it is # 13 @ St. Andrews. I don't know what it is about that hole but it has ruined more good rounds for me than just about any other hole.

Big uphill as well. I thought I deserved an albatross...

    Nice proposition, too!

The signs through the hole say:

    1) Keep outta The Coffins (bunkers).

    2) Keep outta the rough limiting the driving zone.

    3) Rely on the wind or don't - your guess is certainly wrong.

    4) Keep outta the weeds before the left pin (this is the easy one for me).

    5) Stay away from bunker and hill before the right pin.

The latter is the tricky one IMNSHO. It will feed many a ball deep into the green. Best for me is to avoid it left but not too short, bringing the hillside into play.

The PGA might not but the U.S.G.A. does and the U.S. Open courses we have  the pins are from the U.S. Open play.

My understanding is that the USGA has some standards such as it must be possible to putt the ball and stop it within 1 foot of the hole. In other words, you can't have a situation where if you do not pop it in the hole, the ball just keeps rolling indefinitely. This would call into question holes like Oakmont 2, Bethpage 15 and a couple mentioned at Whistler and Cabo. This is not about the rules of golf, just guidelines for specific tournaments. I recall reading in the NY Times the last time the US Open was at Bethpage that what we regard as the easy pin placement on Bethpage 15 was the only place on the green that the USGA could put the hole. Even then, players landing near the hole had their balls spin all the way back down to the bottom and off the green (e.g. Tiger Woods). (The comment in the Times was disputable. I think upper left was also used, but not in WGT. Would like to see where the actual placements were.)

It HAS to be 15th at Bethpage, from the masters tees with that front hole location it leaves a mid-long iron and it's pretty freaking impossible to get close to that pin.

Honestly I got the G-59's specifically for the higher loft, thinking about this hole and I still can't get it close.

Not to mention once on the green everything breaks a million feet. I won't match-play Legends on Bethpage bc they get to hit closer up and have a short iron which makes the hole much easier; not really fair

number 2 and 17 at st andys can be nasty but usually a fair comfortable par.

I think my least favourite hole, (not many will agree) is actually whistler number 10 haha, for seem reason I just cant get that tee shot right. cabo 18th is nasty also, but you just have to lay up below the hole for an uphill putt

BPB 15 is fairly comfortable if you approach up the bottom left hand side of the green.. I think this hole is actually easier when you become legend also
