Not sure where I should post..but..been playing since end of July..best ever 18 hole score is 68..I play mainly c.t.t.h tours..best ever score there, one top 10 place (7th) 8 top 100 placings...all unlimited plays,so tons of attempts to get best score..went to join "any game" earlier, drew a match play game against a master,9 hole best of famous holes..I won the game,he got into plenty of trouble,I was 69.40 or so average, after, dropped to 66.84 and moved up to master tier..I am no way ready or of that skill level yet, only played 65 ranked rounds and very few 18 hole games, only have the awards for 3 courses(71 for st.a's/68 for congressional & 70 for kiawah)have played 2 masters only in match play, this being the second, first game was a while back and I am sure they disconnected after going in a water hazard..I know I am not even close to being good enough for the master tier, and no way i have played well enough to be one..guess I am going to struggle now..back to the c.t.t.h on my own again,my mistake for trying to learn to play better and get some stroke play experience against real players.

It's sad to see the new system take yet another victim.

yeah, i remember when hitting legend in the mid- to high lvl 70's was considered very fast .. now we have guys going legend in lvl 60's .. glad i'm not one of 'em ..

at lvl 78 when i went to Legend i thought i was under clubbed using lvl59 G's & 275yd RBallz driver .. dunno how these guys will manage .. difficult enough as is from the back tees ..

i guess WGT is still "gathering" data .. lol .. what a joke

$$$$$ baby .. pushin' those ridiculous Max irons & balls to low lvl Masters .. just my (humble .. pfft) opinion ..

By the way, pretty impressive scoring Puholino .. sub 60 soon for you

    WGTpizza:

    1) If a player beats another player of a higher tier, in Match Play game mode, their average will go down.

    2) If a player is found to be consistently displaying skill levels of a higher tier, this new feature will increase the rate at which they will advance to the next tier.

To recap -  If you win against a player of a higher tier in a Match Play game, your average will go down. If you consistently out-perform your current tier in tournaments, you will move up to the next tier.

    Hi WGTpizza

My problem with this anti sandbagging system is that I really do believe that it has moved me up too fast.

    ·         I had played 25 games as a Tour Pro at level 47 – my average was 70, with only two games being below the 67 average understood to be Master Tier.

    ·         I play one match play against a new (struggling to cope with longer tee’s) Master and my average is bumped to 67.2

    ·         I play one more game as TP and score 32 – my average goes to 66.xx and I’m promoted.

How have I constantly displayed anything like Master level skill.

I’m now stuck in a tier that I don’t belong in with equipment not up to the job and I cannot get better gear because I’m a dozen levels below minimum requirements.

    Any suggestions?

This is same as happened to myself..I have never scored 67 or below ever..68 was my best ever and only the one time..I have only ever played 9 match plays since i started the game..never for credits and only played 2 masters,I won both after 1 disconnected after water hazard on 2nd I think..and the other made a real mess on two of the first few holes and disconnected also..I have managed 3 eagles total..all the easy st.a's one u can hit the green in 1 on..i am 4.22 avg for par 4's ..3.44 for par 3's..and 4.94 for par 5's..Oddly,my first game as a Master was a 9 hole stroke play tour and I scored a 31 lol..no idea how that happened, but I have an average of 62 now lolol..I would say around 74 to be a more realistic average for me,I have no idea about the chip and pitch(hit and hope) part of the game yet either,I drive well, and my approach not too shabby, but my putting and chip game is very poor indeed..I do have some nice clubs,so I am practising like a lunatic and hope I can at least make a game of it,I really do like the game so I will stick with it,but it does feel like a kick in the backside being promoted,so I do feel your pain, maybe eventually a system will be found to even things up a bit, guess some have to be the guinea pig...squeak,squeak.

What did they do to my beautiful Wgt now?

So if I am reading this correctly, there is a very good chance of regular players who do not play for credits, and at best can only sandbag for bragging rights, getting moved up a tier indiscriminately?

And where to are those for whom this scoring model is intended? Still taking credits just the same one supposes, and now with a larger field of honest but under skilled players to fleece.

I don't even see or understand the Wgt stance on this, where it is obvious to the humblest intellect that including friendly scored MP games into the equation is not the answer to combat sandbagging. Truly simple, really.

Still, allowing for testing time, evaluation and a climb down from the ego pole, maybe the fix is in the works?

    Hope so.

Yes, you are reading this thread correctly. People feel as if they do not "deserve" to have their Tier moved up when they consistently display a skill level higher than their current tier.

For obvious reasons I cannot go in to detail, but this new feature has aided us in identifying and eliminating sandbaggers tremendously. Take this comment as you will, as we can not provide the concrete proof.

My stance on this feature I believe has been stated, but here is a reiteration: This system is, in fact, hindering the sandbagging process, whereas before this feature was implemented, sandbaggers went virtually unchecked.

What we are attempting to do is prevent players from manipulating our system by... manipulating our system. Is it perfect? No. Is it effective? I have seen proof that it is, though I'm sure the community never will, or at least not what they consider "proof". What they will notice, if I am correct, is a severe decline in sandbagging credit loss horror stories. This is the high level goal of this feature, and will take quite a bit of time to slowwwwly happen.

    Stay classy,

Yes, yes, you have caught some sandbaggers who fleece unsuspecting punters for hard earned credits, well done.....

So what do you intend to do about those that are NOT sandbaggers and have been caught in this trap. Is there any right of appeal or are we just dumped on the scrap heap to struggle on or quit in frustration?

Its hard to stay classy when no one appears to be listening to LEGITIMATE complaints. If you are listening then prove it.

Mike has a good point there.

i think its great they have done this,, its got rid of alot of sandbaggers now we are seeing more legends out there thats great..... but as for yall that are just playing for fun an dont want your avrg to move up cause of a quitter or u just happen to play good that round or whatever the case is,,, Play in practice mode thats what its there for,, problem solved....

Either way you look at it you still have to learn from the back tee's sooner or later why not sooner then later level 58 comes pretty fast thats about where all the best clubs start get the G20's an ur set tell u can get the R11's,, look at it as a positive thing it can only get better from there......

best of luck to yall an i'll be waiting for yall on the back tee's.....
