LizzieRossetti: So if I am reading this correctly, there is a very good chance of regular players who do not play for credits, and at best can only sandbag for bragging rights, getting moved up a tier indiscriminately?
Yes, you are reading this thread correctly. People feel as if they do not "deserve" to have their Tier moved up when they consistently display a skill level higher than their current tier.
LizzieRossetti: And where to are those for whom this scoring model is intended? Still taking credits just the same one supposes, and now with a larger field of honest but under skilled players to fleece.
For obvious reasons I cannot go in to detail, but this new feature has aided us in identifying and eliminating sandbaggers tremendously. Take this comment as you will, as we can not provide the concrete proof.
My stance on this feature I believe has been stated, but here is a reiteration: This system is, in fact, hindering the sandbagging process, whereas before this feature was implemented, sandbaggers went virtually unchecked.
What we are attempting to do is prevent players from manipulating our system by... manipulating our system. Is it perfect? No. Is it effective? I have seen proof that it is, though I'm sure the community never will, or at least not what they consider "proof". What they will notice, if I am correct, is a severe decline in sandbagging credit loss horror stories. This is the high level goal of this feature, and will take quite a bit of time to slowwwwly happen.
