Having been playing this game for only 3 days i am really struggling with the putting element. The meter at the bottom seems to bear no relevance to the distance the ball travels any help would be welcomed

    Some help for you.

Every inch of downhill or uphill is actually a foot to be added or subtracted from your distance.  I putt to leave myself 2 feet coming back, some putt to die it in the hole, you have to choose you poison there.  Short putts are historically slow,  hit them firm and take some of the break out.  I hope this helps you, remember putting is the hardest part of the WGT game.  So be prepared for some heartbreak until you learn some of the greens and the putts you have.

It's of big importance to watch the green speed of each game, upper right corner once you're on the green.

Green speeds are named in the FAQ, their relative speeds are 90% (slow), 100% (standard), 110 / 120...% and so forth.

As a beginner, you may go through the starting tiers quite quickly => green speed changes.

OTOH, in rated multiplayer games, the green speed will be set automatically according to the highest tier in the game. In practice games, it may be set ad libitum by the inviting person.
