srellim234: ...The biggest impact would be with lower tiers and those who approach this game seriously, just the same as in real life . Those people would learn the game and improve quicker resulting in a better overall WGT experience.
As a newer player, I like and support this thinking. I'd like the option of being able to practice how to better, or properly, get out of bunkers, without having to wait for the day when I actually do drop into a bunker (which I try to avoid) and only have the rare chance to figure it out. And I feel that it would be good to have a relaxed opportunity to practice how to effectively chip, pitch, flop, etc. as well.
For me, in regards to bunkers, if not also for the other situations, it's like what thebigeasy707 said in another thread ("Change this game to be realistic"):
thebigeasy707:It's all about practise. I know people sigh when they hear that...but there it is.
In the long run.....when you've learned the important parts of the game and have a feel of the courses & conditions....when the game hits you with a VEM, you'll have the ideal shot to counteract it and won't really be too big a deal.
I found that to be sound advice that has helped me look at the game, and VEM in that case, with a different perspective. With that in mind, this kind of practice would definitely make my WGT experience more enjoyable as srellim234 pointed out.
Cheers!
