Unfortunately for many TL their pretty average is more important then anything else. as well as the "Tour Legend" status. Of course scoring a 66 or 70 with UL will have an effect on their average and they just don't want to see that.
As George pointed, the 58 submitted is unrealistic for a Major, but TOUR PRO´S DO NOT HAVE UNLIMITED ROUNDS like we have here do they?, probably from all the scores the 20% was over 60, 50% was over 70 and 30& was over 80 or more. Whether this scores mirror any Pro Mayor is not so relevant in my opinion, the thing is that, not even with unlimited rounds people scored close to 50, as it always happens in any WGT Open or Invitational with unlimited first rounds.
For the very first time in WGT history you need it to PLAN your shot to fairway in order to find the best spot for the next shot, and for the very first time you need it to avoid rough and bunkers at any cost.....this is remarkable! This is what in my personal opinion WGT can be richer, no economically but as a game with strategy.
I used to have a 54 avg and many top players went after me because I had only tens of ranked scored posted as legend and I was at one point nr. 3 in the 100 best legends list only after Dansamcam & Bollox, then I lost completely interest for WGt because I found out that all was a matter to see who could score more birds then the other, hitting rocks at Cabos in order to get on the 5 par green in 1 etc, etc etc.....just boring competition.
To me finally WGT gives a new challenge with the UL, challenge that I had been waiting for long time and now I feel very motivated to participate on any UL tourne even if my average gets over 70.
