Seems like a good excuse for not posting a single play score - well done all those who post whatever.

I didn't make the cut, thank the Lord.

Did you try anyway? Last year, the cut wasn't in effect on some of the big tourneys.

LOL, I did try in my first round without grid in hole 18 from fairway, lost one ball but still submitted my 66 round. I don't mind submitting rounds over 100 strokes, I have done ti b4.

Playing 12 holes without grid might not be stupid, but loosing several balls in the try it is.

I guess we won't see new UL tournaments or Invitationals until the bug is fixed, the way it goes with WGT no even commenting any longer about the bug, that might take ages.....

Pretty sure i did play and have a restart or  two, but  it was a stinker, could not get a putt in anywhere. Which at Kiawah is not unusual for me. Combined with UeL the whole experience was most unpleasant.

I finally do not see the familiar names on top of the Tour Legend leader-board!!!, to me this is a good sign, either they find UL silly, they think it is too difficult to score low 50's as they

Sorry Eric....  this comment is a bit unfair.

UL is a good variation to the game.  I don't want it to be standard.

No Offence, my good friend....  I think the UL has made the game harder for you to play, which has caused your enjoyment.... which is great, don't get me wrong :)

For people like me who is still trying to get those low 50's and basically struggling to break 60... UL, if made standard will be a nitemare and not really fun anymore.

I would luv to have an Ave of 55 or less :)

While a low avg 'LOOKS" nice it means abosolutely nothing in the overall big picture of things.

As for the UL's tourny. One of our Elite CC members - Corwyn - is running the Trans-Alantic UL's tournament. Between Corwyn at the helm and Cerino navigating, it is by far one of THE better challenging - dose of fun tournament presently running in the community. Check it OUT. --->'Tough-It-Out II': The Trans-Atlantic Starter Clubs Uneven Open RETURNS

Hey Roger m8, UL is almost unpredictable because you do not know exactly where you are going to land on fairway (tho you still can aim to an specific place on the fairway), with UL you can be unlucky and during an 18 hole tourne you can land many times in sloppy fairways... but you can also be lucky and land on easy flat fairway spots.

Under UL this conditions, you a "normal" player have better chances to beat any top player score. You do not have the same chances on even lies, those guys will always be ahead of you.

Even lies is just too predictable, very easy game as long as you hit the ding or very close, you master the ding, length, wind and bs, you are a top player trying to make as many birds or eagles in one round, You can master those game factors in UL too, but the unpredictable landing would be very important for you to score great or simply bad.

Hope I make myself clear Roger.

Great idea the tourne this guys are organizing, wish I had to time to join them, I am sure it is very challenging.

I have been avg 54 before and find it very boring trying to keep my pretty avg.... it simply gives me much more fun and challenge to have a 65-70 on UL with tough conditions then to score a 54-53 on even lies from ladies tees and bouncing my ball on the cliff for an easy eagle or even doublet eagle.

LOL, perhaps we simply are here for different reasons Roger.

    Cheers m8, Eric

Thanks Jeff, Eric! The tourney sure is generating a lot of excitement. We have a field of 32 now, all getting set to battle against Old Man Par. Today's the last day for signups btw, if anyone's still interested.

I also wanted to pass on a response I got yesterday from wgticon. I'd asked if the terrible bug (whereby resumed games didn't show the uneven lie grid) had been fixed in this week's update, since there's no way for us to test such a thing. He answered that it was not, but hoped it would be in the February update.

After a follow-up question about whether there'd be any other Uneven Lies tourneys, he replied:

I believe we are going to hold off others until it we fix the issue. I wish I knew about it sooner, so I could have let others know :(

Fortunately, it should not apply to our uneven tourney, because there is no save-and-resume option in practice rounds.
