Your right Lee but sometimes it goes beyond winning a buck or two.   And while I know we will do some scratch tourneys for credits it in Deviations ... I'd be surprised if we do very many.   Looking at the boys/girls in our club ... not many of them would want to take credits from the buddies that they belong to the country club with when they can play RG's and MPC's and try to win some.    Now someday when Club vs. Club happens ... lol .. that's a different story. :)

Besides, CC members have a choice to belong to whatever club they want to belong to. From Lee's earlier post. If you dont like whos in it you dont have to join. You could start a club for handicapp tourney s only. To each his own. Better to have funny not so good players as players who are good but zzzz players. Could be funny good players too. Or funny bad players.Or sometines good players when sober ect. Point being Dont pick CC members on playing abilility. Nice job on walkthrough niv. I understood almost all.

Is it only club owners that can upgrade the CC?

Correct.  That comes with the territory of being the head honcho.  However, if you feel obliged to help offset the cost I'm sure your club's owner would not refuse a pack or two of his preferred balls being thrown his way. ;-)

    plim:

...just a couple of points on the club tourneys are they all played in ranked mode.

and it would be better if instead of 24 48 or 72 hour duration that we could set our own start and finish date, giving members a few days notice of any comp starting and up to a week to play from starting date. and i take it you can only play these comps as a single player and not with another member of the club.

All CC tournaments are ranked, correct.  I'll pass along your suggestion about custom start and end dates.  I believe it was done this way as a starting point.  In the meantime if you know you are going to post a tournament I'd recommend posting a notice on your forum a few days prior to creating your event.

You are also correct that CC tournaments are played in single player.

What's the issue ???   Does someone want WGT to make it easier to handicap an internal Country Club tournament ???  Take some initiative people and figure out how to do it yourself ---- for your own Country Clubs.    I know that's what we will do that in the club I belong to.
Ah, but the issue is the transfer of credits... As of right now a CC tourney with a payout is scratch ONLY... no handicappng available.  Sure you could set up one yourself, but you can't wager on it.

seems simple enough to have payouts in handicapped CC stroke tourneys...Play in "free" CC tourney mode, adjust scores for handicaps, entry fees and payouts are in the form of sleeves of balls or other giftable WGT equipment...Harve

Another idea is to do an MPC forfeit .... 10 players in a handicapped tourney ... everyone plays ... winner take all .... Play it in free mode .... the winner starts an MPC game for 100 credits with each of the other players and the folks who don't win forfeit on the first hole.   WGT gets the same cut as if you set up a stroke play tourney so they shouldn't mind.    If you want to pay out 1,2 and 3 places ... that's ok too ... just takes some coordination.   If I can do it anyone can :)

    Country Clubs

Sorry, but this invitation to join the country club is no longer valid. Please contact the club owner to receive a new invitation.
This is what the message stated after I used the e-mail to complete the CC invite. Another bug I suppose?

Chances are someone sent you a double invite.  If they send a second invite it cancels the authorization code in the first one.  Have your owner clear off any pending invites for you and you should delete any emails with invitations.  Have the owner send you an invitation again.

Make sure you are logged into the site before clicking the link in the email.

    Snaike:

My turn....  I have the best gear, been here over 18 months, finally made master... and am no where near the 'elite' level.

The problem is not a handicap issue, it's not the game, it's not my computer, it's me.

I suck at this game.  Full stop.

But I'm not going to whine and cry about not having a 'fair chance' and need a 'handicap' to win.  Bull-cookies.  Either you can or you can't.  If the same 10% of the people win all the tournaments (and there's no monkey-business with accounts and hacks) I say fine, congratulations, and move on.

This nonsense about creating a level playing field is just that, nonsense.

Bottom line.  If you can't do something, don't handicap someone who can just to bring them back to YOUR level.  Work harder at being better.  If you can't, find a smaller sandbox to play in.

    Just my opinion.

(ps...if I wanted to play in handicapped tournies, I'd look at golfseekers.  The reason I haven't been there is handicapped tournies are not something I want to play in...  it's like playing a team sport where everyone gets a 'participation ribbon' and no one wins a trophy.  No thanks.)

Just the sort of person i love to meet in real golf wants to play off scratch especially when i was a plus 1 golfer,on saying that it would nt happen in real golf what chance would a 14 handicap golfer have against me off plus 1,absolutely zilt nada,no chance.Handicapping is part and parcel of real golf wgt is trying to make this like real golf, yes there are many scratch tournaments in real golf why cant there be both on here,if you dont want to play in them so be it,thats your choice but the option should be there for those who do.

This too is just my opinion and personally i dont care if they do or they dont bring in handicaps i will enjoy the game regardless, what i dont like is this "i dont want it so it should nt happen" attitude, there are other paying customers on here other than you who are also entitled to their say without been called whiners or crying because its not a level playing field.

Finally does anyone win a trophy in this virtual game, i know on golfseekers i ve won balls clubs and yes real money .

    Have a good day.

Pardon me, Geordieles, please point out where I said that there were whiners and/or criers?

I have stated my opinion on the matter and moved on.  I really don't see why you would take offense at that, considering you have done the same.
