    @Romax

All my arguments are in the context of players 'wedging' on the green for credits and prizes, if it doesn't apply, no need to reply.

If you watch the video "How to Putt" supplied free to view by WGT, you will hear no mention of  a wedge or see a wedge or any other club for that matter,  but the putter.

A small point, but another against the 'wedgies'

    Tightrope:

    Romax:
I will look forward to your replay of this "easy" shot.

If it would not be easier than a putt, when the situation is made tricky, for a putting competition, you would not use it.

I never said it wasn't easier. I said it wasn't easy. In Canada if we can find a way to get a job done that is easier..we do it that way. How stupid of me to find an easier way to make a shot and get the job done. That putt is fkn ridiculous and defies all logic and physics.

I wonder how many putting gurus would love to try it, but can't bear the thought of hitting the wedge. Suck it up ....

The debate is about wedging on the green in credit and prize tournaments. If it doesn't apply to you Romax, why get involved and let it upset you and defend something that doesn't apply to you?

Now who in the fk said I was upset? I just have an opinion that I pay to play here and my shots are my own choice. I play the ones that work for me. That's it..

Good onya, i will wedge on the green when ever it's around 15 yards, and not downhill.

    Guaranteed  two putt.

My personal opinion is - use a putter on the greens. now i know rules dictate that you can use other clubs on the green. i quess that makes it OK. all tournaments work on the honor system. for you that like to use a putter - you're like me. i won't get upset about wedges on greens because the rules of golf permit it. please just play the game and have FUN.

It appears that the latest cntirbuters to thisa havent read the previious points, so I 'm not going to repeat myself.

I did a quick countback of all the opinions, and it's roughly 50/50 for and against the use of wedges on greens. It will be interesting to see how the petition goes.

Again I will say, I'm only against banning it where credits and prizes are at stake in putting competitons..

If your allowed to use wedges on greens so be it.

I've used wedges on the greens in the putting comps before... just to see what it was like, and I tell ya it was allot easier than putting on some of those greens....lol

Then I got to thinking... what am I doing... this is not golf as we know it... just rubbish...lol

The Putting comps in R/Go's ... Wgt should ban all wedges from being used.

The Unlimited Putting Free Comps is great practice for people who are struggling to putt and judge distance and all that jazz.

I think there are heaps of people asking for help with there putting....  these Unlimited comps is great practice.... just to get the feel of greens and the distance required for future reference.

    -Roger

Edit.....   I should say....  the only time I will use a wedge on the greens if there is a bunker or rough/fringe in the line of my ball and the hole

I posted a CTTH putting competition in our club and put it to the members that 'dare they use their putter only'. The response was fantastic, over half the club membership entered, and we have had 5 or six different leaders so far in a great ding dong battle.

The scores are well spread out and consistent with putting only.  It's not one player dominating with 'wedging' scores as in previous competitions.

I think this might prove that putting (only using the putter) in CTTH tournaments can not only work, but would be much more popular if WGT made the changes.

Our current one is definitely the most enjoyable I have played in.

I hope club owners read this and try it, ask your members to use the putter only.
