Still 5 for me, can't get it close either short or long.   Plus it's a 185 yard 2nd shot so not a short wedge into there.

13 is still a mystery.  I have played 6 rounds in which I played the 13th hole.  I have an ace, 2 birdies, 1 par, an 8 and a 9 on that hole.  The distance just doesn't seem to be consistent and being a few yards long can land you into rough that you just can't play out of, trap back there is no picnic either.

I've seen the right shot twice and from 2 different players, 2 different ways. The first one stuck it 3 feet above the pin. A favorable headwind for stopping helped and the right club got him there.

The second was a run up from the right side that started about 1/2 way to the right fringe. This was definitely the harder of the 2 but resulted in a gimme. The first time I tried it I went too high and wound up on the green but down the left side. Surprisingly, the putt was not difficult and definitely makeable.

My shot from the fringe where every other attempt winds up is a pitch. It plays uphill and you can afford to be aggressive with a CG64W pitch, fbs about 50% swing.  Fun hole but should be relatively easy par, even if you play the 3rd shot from the fringe.

With a stiff 10 mph plus tailwind, go 120 full top, you'll get close

Great tip Hass. I tried it out just there with a +13 tail wind and 120 half top landed 1.5 feet from the hole :)

    #17 par 3

not cause it's the toughest. it's just wgt have got the green wrong 5ft from pin....it's been hugely exaggerated imho.

played a ton of golf but can't seem to remember a green that breaks slow then superfast then slow again in a 2ft  area almost like someone's taken a 7lb sledgehammer to the green and the grass has grown back...but it's just a game....so it's all good and I'm enjoying what will be my last open before I put the clubs away.

    stay lucky

So now the course has been released and players have had a chance to play it, what is the toughest hole you have encountered so far?

For me it is Hole #5!  I can't tell you how many times I played that hole and ended up off the green or three putting.  I tried everything I could think of, leaving it short to chip on with full spin.  I tried to leave the ball above the hole, below the hole, Behind the hole, and in front lol.  Nothing worked for me.  It always sucked because I would be 3 under and then would double bogey it and there goes that positive mindset I had going into the round.

I agree 100%. I made a birdie too, there, but it was just a lucky event! lol I think that it's an hole with all the parameters wrong! Any kind of shot it's never the right one. The better strategy, I think, it's to shot just before the green, on the left, for a pitch or flop to the hole. Bye

#3 for me, no birdie there yet.  Can't seem to get the distance right - and wind effect is monstrous.

+1 . . . glad someone mentioned this hole thought it was just me . . . no pars there yet!

if its small downwind use 240 full bs and if its into the wind depending u can still use 240 just no bs. you need to have the right balls to play that hole for some run out

Am I the only one to lose a ball on #15,  wind into slightly left and I mishit left and over the cart path it bounces OB.  Three putt triple bogey

    :(

Edit: Well, I must have brought over a dark cloud in that game with my playing partners.  One guy hits a perfect drive, mishits way right on approach lands in weeds.  Takes three tries to get out, only to be short of green.  Then chips up slope and watches as ball rolls back leaving him farther for his next shot.  Chips again, now above the hole.  Putts down the slope and ball goes off the green.  Chips up and ball rolls down by his feet again. 10th shot chips again and rolls over right edge of cup.  Other player partner didn't do so hot either with a triple bogey.
