  first round i was 6- on 10 or 11 is it as it's free,i tried drilling the trees and failed,second go 66,had a few alt shots on back since and while it's a tough course,oly still harder i think,the top guys on here a few games anywhere they'll nail it.nothings impossible i said i'd only have 8 cans tonight and im on 16 now;-)

  Agreed.

  So how do Wgt make the game harder. 2 simple solutions. Reduce the distance of every club in the game by 20yds. Reduce the amount of spin & distance dots by 2. Hey presto the game becomes as difficult as it was 2 years ago.

  This is a really stupid statement - the course is far from a joke, it needs great course management, accurate approaches (to the right spots) and hot putting, Just because you (and cetainly not me) can do this does not mean it is not a super course.

  Yes with a major the cream will rise to the top - these are the players that have taken time to learn the game inside out, and I salute them for that dedication.

  As for the average player like me, there is no point even dreaming that I could qualify (and I haven't tried to, but will have a crack for fun) but to belittle the course because you do not have the required skills is simply ridiculing yourself.

  Get real WGT, you make it unpleasant and not worth the effort.

  In the qualifier you were playing off the back tees (Championship) and playing Tournament speed greens instead of the Tour Pro set-up. Add in clubs that can't get the job done and high scores follow.

  You go through hole 5 & 6 with par, you are on the other side for a good round, you miss those disgusting greens on the approach or land far from the pin, you better restart the match, simple.

  well the course is ok i like it granted i am not a uber ledgend but a ledgend none the less.been playing awhile and just happy to see another course to play.

  now with that said unfortunate for the players that actually play these without aid ..because the scores posted 2 hrs after the course came out to play a guy shoots a 56 wich is is obvious getting some help from some where else like most of the so called top players..just takes away from the game. to bad that wgt doesnt really concern themselves with that fact. only thing i dont like about wgt is that 1 fact.

  Well CD; take a look at some of my putts at Merion on my replays. Other than the putting it is a good course (fun to play IMO). The greens are irregular in the distances, I guess it could be from trying to rush it out. Frustrating when you are losing 3-6 strokes a round. This is just my thoughts, WGT can tweak the course I guess and make it right, or the OP is right and I cannot qualify, about ready to slow down on it any way.

  I think many players are rushing to play the course very well right away. The Quali period is nearly 2 months. I'm taking it nice and slow and learning the bounces and rolls of the place first. I've been playing back and forth between Even Lies and Uneven Lies to try to understand the lay of the land. As far as the greens, right away I noticed a need to hit uphill puts a little stronger and downhill putts  weak and filled with prayers more than confidence at this point. It's been less than a week and nothing feels natural yet anyway.

  Let it sink in and become natural. Let the shots come to you and become like breathing,  then go for the Elite kill shot. ;-)

  Another one of these "easier to figure everyone else is cheating since you aren't good enough to compete" posts...
