    Hi

Don't really know and maybe it is just me, but I find merion the hardest cource

    on WGT.

There are simply 5-6 holes, where I honestly don't feel at home.

Anybody else have the same feeling?

    Have a happy golfing.

Strange course in my mind.   There are some really easy holes and 5 or 6 holes, as you mentioned that are almost impossible.   I'll put 5 up there from the Legend tees as one of those.

The four par 3 holes are all very tough, even 13 at only 135 from the back is very difficult to judge and getting above the hole is death.

I agree as Merion is a strange course. The book I have on Merion reads the holes as follows:

Hole 1: Damned Sycamore treeon the right of the tee!

Hole 2: I worry about the Out of Bounds line and the deep rough on the left

Hole 3: Miss the green and a recovery shot is impossible

    Hole 4: Damned right-to-left slope

Hole 5: Fairway slopes right-to-left also but a good driving hole

Hole 6: Uphill slope to the green with a back left to the front approach

Hole 7: Begins a stretch of holes for possible birdie chances

Hole 8: Fun and good luck driving up to the green

Hole 9: Difficult par 3 on a downhill green, with a nasty water hazard

Hole 10: On the green, a severe right-to-left curve to approach the hole

Hole 11: Miss the fairway and you're in the brook!

Hole 12: Another severe sloped green from back left to front right....any approach that misses left has a mean up-and-down

Hole 13: Probably the smallest green on the course, but I'm able to birdie it pretty regularly

Hole 14: Uphill par 4, and if you miss on the left you are out of bounds

Hole 15: Dangerously close out of bounds hole on the left

Hole 16: Last real shot at birdie before the 17th & 18th

Hole 17: slightly downhill to the green with a pronounced ridge in the front

Hole 18: Downhill pitch and steep right to left...better to be long on the approach than short

The more I play it the worst I play it.But I keep trying. The 5th hole kills me every time.

61 was my best round and I really don't think I'll even come close to that again.

I play the first 11 holes in the qualifier without too many difficulties, then I hit a birdie brick wall. 13 and 16 should be relatively easy birdies but both holes I invariably par, the others I just don't get close enough often enough.

I am still chasing a 56 to make qualification a certainty but it isn't half knocking the stuffing out of me trying. 61,59,58 & 59 this morning and I'm damn near suicidal now lol.

In a month my 58 has gone from being 26th place to 157th place (missing the cut). I've only played it once. I guess I'll do the ol' multiple thangy and try to improve.

Well it's a relief that a tour legend like tiffer67 is having the same experiences as me....Ive lost count of the number of times I've got it to -9 thru 11, only to hit that brick wall you mention, and close at -10. There are definitely birdie chances in the final 7 holes but crazy things happen once i reach 12.

best i can muster is 66 . there is always one hole i implode on , 5 or 6 on the front and take you your pick from the 12 thru 15 stretch on the back .... the other night i was on 6 green -3 with a 4.5ft birdie putt and 5 putted for triple bogey .... i did go on and birdied 7,8 and 9 for a 33 ...

Try the 8i punch full and use spin to compensate for the wind.

    Awesome!!! TY!!!

I just tried this with my L79 Bladez, worked like a charm! It will take some play time to get a good feel for it, but I dreaded this hole previously.
