our hearts and prayers go out to all suffering in this disaster. it's happening in a place not usually ravaged by such a thing. this is not over as this storm heads East and all the flood water has to travel east also !! thedevastation will continue! a special thanks goes out to all the first responders !!

For those of you who may not know this, the flooding is happening in southern  Alberta, Calgary in particular. To give you an idea the water has reached 12 rows up in the hockey arena. The downtown core has as much as 5' of water in places. We have family there thankfully they're safe, we hope the rest are too.

this will only get worse - all of western Canada will be affected. God Bless !! this is epic already dubbed the storm of the century ( and it's only just begun ) 2005 and 1990 are nothing compared to this. God bless the people downstream !! it's coming !! you can't believe how big this is. this area helps feed the world. there are kids playing a thousand kilometers away that will be 10 feet under water in a week. when the Mississippi floods people notice !! this is bigger !! this will affect the entire world.

my mother phoned me today and asked how i was fairing out with the floods and all. I told her I was OK and reminded her that I live about 150 feet above the river, she told me she was concerned after watching the news in Ontario that showed a house we lived in Calgary , in the 50's and it was suffering badly. thanks mom !!
