Do WGT plan to give us any other non US courses in HD?

I'm pi$$ed at not getting the British Open for 2 consecutive years now........but at least WGT could attempt to give us a new HD course at some stage which is outside of the US.

I've pretty much gave up on getting British Opens now because they're obviously not on the WGT agenda but there's a ton of decent courses throughout the world. I could care less which country or which course but there's too much emphasis on US courses on WGT.....and it's time WGT made a real effort to step out of their comfort zone.

Next time WGT jump on a plane to photograph a course.......check in to the International Departure Lounge for a change.

Sad to say , but this is completely true, indeed why can't we have other countries fine courses? after all variety is the spice of life they say

All down to cost I suppose. I imagine it costs less than half to make it near to HQ.

But surely , course owners would jump at the chance to get their pride and joy onto the site, maybe even waiving any fee just for the recognition alone?

I'm pretty certain that I read an article online once stating that about fourteen golf courses from around the world had been in touch with WGT and were queueing up to appear on here in one form or another. If that is true, why can't WGT  get in touch with some of these when the British Open venue falls through and get that on instead.

    BOXALL:

The article you read was from Forbes in September 2012.

    Here's the quote you remember:

    Forbes magazine article on WGT:
It (WGT) is adding two to three new ones (courses) per year, and there’s a waiting list of 14 courses from countries such as Japan, Korea, Sweden and Brazil that want to be incorporated into the game.

I read it on the internet so it must be true.

Two to three a year doesn't sound right. I've been a member for 18 months and there have only been 2 courses added ( I think!).

the most annoying thing to me is the silence, we dont hear a word from wgt about this topic.

we was promised a tru golf course last autumn/fall

not the ideal answer but better then nothing.

what  ever happend to the live chat with chad ? i used to like them , at least we got answers to some questions

that the loyal fans of wgt ask .

has the enthusiasm of producing new HD courses evaporated , do wgt feel that there is enough courses and 1 course a year is enough ?

    still a gr8 game though

    :o)

Yes we were. But WGT is in between a rock and a hard place with the Tru-Golf courses. Tru-Golf requires that we pay a green fee to play these courses. Many of us including me only play them when they are free to play, and some never play them at all. Tru-Golf might not be getting enough green fees to recoup their expenses and has decided that they don't  want to make any more courses for WGT. WGT can't force them to make a course. Just like they can't force a course owner to let the shoot their course.

    LOL a sceptic huh?

    http://www.wgt.com/about.aspx

Also included on the site however!

I agree with Born - TruGolf are not obliged to make new courses for WGT and would not if the return on that investment does not match their expectations. Bearing in mind that the green fees were reduced is a sure sign that the demand was not there.

For the OP, nope two consectutive years of no Open Course - and unless WGT are keeping this under their belt, it is not planned for next year either (Bandon Dunes Par 3 and Pinehurst)

Yes overseas courses will cost more to produce but if that article is accurate, then there is a deal to be done IMO. So the question as always, where are the plan B's to ensure we get a minimum of two HD courses a yesr?

New development of courses is the best way to keep the regulars interested and entice new players and with out them the regulars play less or stop playing till something new turns up.
