We, on wgtls, have a WHOIS section, where it shows the IP adresses of all our members( just to the mods thought)

Because they can be the same for different people it shows also whats called a browserstring, which let us see what kind of browsers and which versions are installed.

I question the legality of passing personal identifiable data to… "Just the Mods". Do we need to use tor just play virtual golf? I most certainly hope not.

Agree seen a guy that stiffed someone over some owed creds or something and got his ip and wiped out his hard drive he hasnt been on since april.

What?? Are you serious?? Holy.........thank you very much for that. I was thinking about joining a team. That just made up my mind. Again thank you so much.

It just does nothing more then giving us some information that could indicate the fact that someone has more then 1 account, which seems to be a major problem on WGT, even more problematic for many than cheating programs.

We act on that indication and ask for an explanation and in many cases there is one like same workspot, familymembers playing and such. Sometimes a player indeed admits he has more accounts and is asked to remove one, but the player always gets the benefit of the doubt

I really thought it was a big problem on WGT, but if I show a simple way to at least get some of the double accounts picked out, its suddenly not done. WGT is doing nothing about it at all. so it seems at least, i dont know all the ins and outs of WGT, but its a non evasive way on the base of very general information to give us at least some indication, thats all

Yup Gerald it won't on wgtls let's not get that confused but was on voice chat where ip was made public unless you knew how to hide it. But for anyone other than a owner of a site as such nobody else should have a players ip address.

Yeah, that sounds like a shady deal to me. Not going near that with a 10 foot pole. All that to play a virtual golf game? Lol, no thanks i'm good.

    DAZZA501:

The best thing would be for everyone to stop talking about it so that the new players don't know it exists. All it will lead to is everyone thinking they have to have it in order to compete.

I honestly don't think there's that many people using these programs. The low scores are because these guys are just that good.

Ignore to isolate, one up for Dazza.

The main problem is to know that there are these software and they are advertised. Rumors says that some CC owners aware of some of these applications, and that suggests to its members without thinking about the fact that when everyone will use these cheating software many will abandon WGT.

I hope WGT Staff will be able to interact with these products as soon as possible, at the bottom, WGT revenues are far greater than the individual producer of programs to cheat, but maybe we're really far away.

Here is my 2 cents worth.  Speaking for me and me only that loves to play this game, I can say that there are times where it gets frustrating, meter jumping, big penalty for barely missing ding, especially if u miss same side wind is blowing, etc,  to the point that you begin to contemplate wanting to get an auto dinger.  Being an honest person and not wanting to do that i just put up with what happens.  The one thing that may help us honest guys is to possibly widen the ding area.  Instead of just a small white line to hit how about that line be a little wider.  Being that most of the time we are barely missing the ding but being severely penalized.  Would also help us combat the cheaters as our overall ding percentage would increase in order to compete with the cheaters.  In this way the cheaters would get frustrated because us honest folks can now beat them at their own game.  They will then stop cheating and save the money they are spending on the cheat programs.

Thanks for the comment and idea about widening the ding on the swing meter. That could definitely have an impact on the game, which we would need to research before making a change.

Stop thinking about messing with things that are okay as they are. Fix the broken bits and leave the bloody thing alone!
