Just to get a foretaste of how the competition will look under the new system, if you've got nothing better to do (and who has, really?), try a practice round with master clubs from, say, the red tees at Bethpage.

On the 6th you drive straight over the bunker to the bottom of the hill, leaving a lofted wedge. On the 7th, your second shot is 200 yards or so (oh! that was with a botched drive). On the 12th, you're coming into the hole with a pitching wedge. On the 13th, you reach the green in 2 with a 4-iron. On the 15th, your approach (2nd shot) is from a layup position of 130 yards or so.

    A hogshead o' lower primates.

I like the idea of the new tiers to level the playing field a little but having a amateur have the same clubs as masters is ridiculous. When you do that theres no incentive to move up to master. You could just stay amateur and win bookoos of credits by sandbagging. The one thing that wgt has to get next  is a virtual driving range. and putting & chipping green. Charge something like 2 or 3 credits a bucket with 100 or so balls. and use your on balls on putting & chipping green. HAS to be done.

It says in the clearance sale ad, later this month. So, it could be anytime from Aug 23 - Aug 31. We'll get a few hours notice when they make the announcement for the next product update.

I wonder if it would be possible for WGT to elaborate a little on the new equipment. The 25% sale is very tempting and its got me wanting to buy $20 of GI-SD balls, but i am somewhat reluctant to make the purchase. i don't want buy alot of balls then find out in a week there obsolete, or even worse there inferior to the new balls. I'd be grateful if WGT or anyone in the' know ' could shed a bit of light on this 25% sale, and any heads up on the new equipment.... Thanks

Check out Upcoming Product Releases.  New clubs, avatars and tiers, etc are on the horizon.  There is no mention of golf balls.

Wow, the Roadmap features are shrinking too. And did anyone see what was in the Roadmap features list? Everything we all want in the game. I hope some of that stuff makes it in the game by Christmas.

Nice one Infinito, your right there is no mention of balls, which begs the question "why are they on sale then"?. Hopefully it is what it seems to be and if it isn't , the GI-SD balls i am just about to buy can join my other 60 balls i have no use for anymore. Thanks for the heads up.
