I am sure that this has been discussed before, I would have added to a previous thred if there had been a search option, but hey ho.

People that quit games should have a levy applied for their next two games. One shot should do unless you are a repeat offender

I totally agree with you. And have an 'average' punishment as well.

It has been one of the most popular common subjects in these threads for a long time, ggl.

Unfortunately, WGT has mo means to administer a fair and equitable punishment, as they have no means of determining the reasons for a dropped game or dropped player. These are some of the same arguments in conjunction with the reputation feature, and the new tier level changes that are in the works. Would not be fair to punish someone for a power outage, isp outage, etc.

The only fair way to handle this is to force everyone to finish each and every ranked round. If a round counts towards a players average, it should be finished. The game currently re-launches with the game saved, and gives the player an option to resume, or quit. Removing the 'quit/end round' option would take care of this fairly. It would also make it easier to identify sandbaggers, as a dropped low scoring round simply disappears right now. Under this format, a player that has a great start would have to purposely shoot bad on the ending holes to keep their average up, and prevent moving to a new tier. Easy one to spot, if it is programmed correctly.

It is important to understand that punishing someone by elevating their average just might REWARD them for quitting, as many are quitting to artificially elevate their averages (by not posting low scores) in order to prevent a move upwards in tiers.

I think everytime someone starts a new thread on quitting should have the same punishment. :)  Search box is over there ------------------------->   Quitters

Claremoreblue - the education you have given me is invaluable and I thank you for sparing me any wrath connected with my poor education when in this game.

VanHalenLover, good group. I understand why you think removing the 'quit/end round' option would be beneficial in dealing with the issue, however may I suggest an alternative, a shot  levy say .25 for every time a player did this could count towards receiving a shot at some point as a penalty. If they just dropped out then perhaps a punishment of .50 or .75 could be applied. Perhaps you think me harsh given that people can genuinely drop a link, it has happened to me but over the scheme of things would this be too much to endure? Clearly this has to be thought through more but it would it not make an example of those who are not playing fairly?

Gary your proposal would not work period. Why punish anyone because the game dumped them. Why punish anyone because the error message comes up and boots you. Why punish anyone because the power goes out or better yet when someone in the game clicks the red X to leave.

Do your search and then you will realize the issue is more complex than one might imagine. Why should you be punished if the other player dumps the game and you stall out?? Again in no way can they process all angles of disconnections sir. I've read this garbage for almost three years and you are entitled to your opinion, it just needs to be better informed as to what you are requesting so you understand the issue. JMO  :)

Already been done with the reputation tracking and lasted what 4 days LOL.  Happy Golfing everyone.
