It must be one of those worms again. They are always poking their head out at the wrong moment.

Mind you, there are a few Formula 1 teams who wish their cars had brakes like that ball.

+1.... You see.... only heavy brakes get applied when there already has been enough perfect scores shot in a particular tourney.

We had a thread on this exact same subject not to long ago.

This is my take on it......... figure they are throwing wtf approaches at me all game.... yup but i'm draining all the long putts...lol.

Figure at some point or the another they have to do something to stop me from posting a decent score........ so there you go... the putt with Formula 1 brakes.

Also from what i have been told one of the reasons gift cards were removed. Gambling and crap like that could land you in some serious trouble.  Liabilities this company could not handle. Soo.... had to can the gift cards..... hehe.

Shame we can't play a honest game. But..... then again... honesty is not this company's strong suit.

Acknowledged by the genius of 'Andyson'.... doesn't get any better.

    Cheers, Andy!

*Btw could you make the gap between the official's fingers a tad wider.... paranoia kicking in here. :)

Some of the explanations that we get for these nuances are pretty good.  I had a putt almost Identical to this one on Dec 2 and sent a replay of it to WGT to try to find out what caused it.  Here is the explanation I got...for a putt...simply amazing to say the least.

    Hello Leo,

From what I can see in this replay, it looks like the balls catches a backspin that causes it to slow down severely but, because of where it is, it is not enough to get it to come back in the hole but, does make it stop. If you look closely, when it starts to flip around, it just stops on the higher area because of the spin. I hope I answered your question properly. If not, please feel free to ask any more questions

    Thank you,

The ball catches a backspin??   LMAO!

Yeah... i say we without any doubt got some clowns that work for this company. Clowns that know zero about the game of golf. Probably same clowns that know zero about programming.

" if you look closely, when it starts to flip around, it just stops on the higher area because of the spin"

    LOL  unfooking believable.

" Please feel free to ask any more questions"

Really.... who the hell would want to ask some idiot like that another question?

The Cracker Jack box has been damaged......lol.

Edit:  Funny thing is i have sent many bug reports on same thing. I have never once got a reply. Wasn't really looking for one either.... but i'm sure backspin had to be the problem. ;)

Got to pay attention to the backspin next time i'm putting.

Phib. Broken link. Coincidence? Yeah. Maybe.

When I posted original, I wondered if an admin would have a chime.

    Looks like -- NOT.

Given the topic/ heading, you'd think this would be one of the priority threads.

I hear ya mate.  But.... what would they say?

I for one am dying to know. I have seen so many putts do the exact same thing i lost count.

I would say.... silence is the play.  Never know though.... after reading that idiotic reply^^ above.  lol

Must have caught a backspin mate....    vul

Edit:   Hey.... i got a good one. What do you think would happen if one of these forum Mods came in and said the ball caught a backspin??

    Little food for thought.....    :)

The broken replay link is on Phiber not WGT.  I took a look at his link and fixed it here:

    Phiber's shot  http://www.wgt.com/replay.aspx?ID=d060f8b7-85f6-4fa3-b98d-a2880177dfc1

Yeah, without seeing the replay it does seem an unbelievable reply.  But now after seeing phiber's replay it is obvious that the Member Services response was not meant for phiber's question but was meant for a different replay.  I see zero correlation between phiber's shot and the Member Services reply.  I imagine Member Services gets tons of messages each day and if their system is an antique like the PM system for members? Enough said.

Another similarity between Wiger's replay and phiber's replay is the sound made when the ball stops.  It is a little "thump" sound. Like a ball landing on the green.  But quieter.  Maybe the referee is right and its the sound of a ball bouncing off a spike mark?  LOL

Or the sound of the brake being applied?  LOL

Anyway, I've had WTF putts too.  Not often considering the number of putts taken.  But then again, I've mis-hit putts that surprise me and go in the hole.

And TBH, not being a great putter, I get more of the latter mis-hit surprises than the WTFs.
