    WGTdbloshoe:
Basically if your a verified account, it is showing you went through a process of verifying that you are who you say you are.  We are hoping this eventually will cut down on the accusations that are sometimes thrown back and forth between players.

So pandering to the Elite few ?

    WGTdbloshoe:
Also it could lead to special credit matches for verified players where enough credits are wagered to allow the winner to use them to get a gift card.

    See above response

I answered a direct question posed.  Those are the benefits.  Any verified player can win, earn, and save enough credits to cash out.

I don't see the cheats liking this at all. It is the utility bill that will get most of them. Not easy to fake those.

Bull BTB,  WGT wouldn't know a legitimate Spanish/ Swedish / Sumatranese leccy bill if it hit them in the proverbial !!

    This will solve NADA !! ?!! ??!!

Shoe, you stated that newer players to the game have been requesting this, so to speak. Here is a post i made in another thread regarding the putting grid:

Not great at all, my honest opinion on this. I can handle it just about, but we never asked for it. The post that shoe put up saying that new members complained about this is bull. We all started in the same place, and we all learnt how to play the greens. If this is supposed to help new players, then i would expect my putting to improve, but we all know that wont happen, eh WGT?

So you see what im getting at here Shoe?

It is a fine line that has to be walked between new players and older players.  New players need the game to be enjoyable and not so frustrating that they quite after a couple of rounds.  This seemed like a way to not make any drastic changes to the game, but do something that could make it easier for someone new.

WE found this game a grind at the start but WE persevered..

Don't pander to the plebs with no staying power Just to grab a few $$ ?

Surely a loyal customer base is a must ?

That said, every business needs new influx of cash but to start off with the premise to appease newbies is...phfffft

More sign ups since the marriage with Golf Channel ?

It won't last, honeymoon period is all...( it's a finite well to drink from )

Look after the stalwarts who play through thick and thin, whatever you do every month !!

Your opinion.  Instead of assuming it won't help.... see how it goes for a little while.  Who knows you may be surprised.

A to the BS part of it... What would be my reasoning for stating it?  Couldn't I of just said "Hey all this is a new feature we put in to help everyone with putting!"  Would you rather of gotten that?  Or the truth? You all ask for us to be more open about our reasoning behind some of this stuff.  But when I give you the honest answer.... All this happens lol

Fair enough but you neglected to quote the pertinent point of ^ that post

USE the SAME criteria to verify ALL accounts, hack upwards ?

This has nothing to do with Golf Channel.  This has to do with growing a game and a product.  Relying on existing players is a recipe for disaster.  Look at some of the other game companies out there.  King Games, Candy Crush, derives 80% of their revenue from one game.  What happens when people get bored of the game?  You have to continue to grow your game, grow your users, and grow the options that they have. Look I get a lot of the older players are upset about the change.  That being said it really is a minor change and one that won't effect your game much.  Give it a chance.  Maybe it grows on you.

verified accounts:  You think this will stop the cheats?

I bet it doubles them.  Anything can and will be faked in the world today!

You have people on here cheating for wgt credits!

What do you think they will do for real world cash?

Still waiting for that list of people that wanted larger dots on the putting grid!

And I agree with a previous post about having to learn how to putt on this game and sticking with it.  The putting is what sets everything apart.

Why not just turn the green into a giant hole?

If you think I am going to give you a list of players who made a request.... you are going to waiting a long long time.  I can see it it now.  Here is a list of names go harass them cause they requested something!  LOL yeah not going to happen.
