First, thanks for acknowledging the problem involving no grid for pitches and chips.

Second, the prices on the new Nike balls are beyond the pale.

Third, enlarging the putting grid dots was a bad move and should be undone...the larger dots really do give what is and what should be a classy game a very cheap arcade look and feel.  Newcomers should have difficulty putting and learning the game in general.  That's what keeps folks coming back for more, the learning process and the challenge of improving.

It is a fine line that has to be walked between new players and older players.  New players need the game to be enjoyable and not so frustrating that they quite after a couple of rounds.  This seemed like a way to not make any drastic changes to the game, but do something that could make it easier for someone new.

WE found this game a grind at the start but WE persevered..

Don't pander to the plebs with no staying power Just to grab a few $ ?

Surely a loyal customer base is a must ?

That said, every business needs new influx of cash but to start off with the premise to appease newbies is...phfffft

More sign ups since the marriage with Golf Channel ?

It won't last, honeymoon period is all...( it's a finite well to drink from )

Look after the stalwarts who play through thick and thin, whatever you do every month !!

This has nothing to do with Golf Channel.  This has to do with growing a game and a product.  Relying on existing players is a recipe for disaster.  Look at some of the other game companies out there.  King Games, Candy Crush, derives 80% of their revenue from one game.  What happens when people get bored of the game?  You have to continue to grow your game, grow your users, and grow the options that they have. Look I get a lot of the older players are upset about the change.  That being said it really is a minor change and one that won't effect your game much.  Give it a chance.  Maybe it grows on you.

Agreed, I'm saying that more import is being put on new players that maybe less than 5% will continue over 6 months ?

    Which 90+ % will ?

I am not upset, the changes you have made might've cost me 1 shot a round, until I found a work around..I could set the meter at my desired strength, let meter run. shut my eyes and STILL hit close enough to the ding line to putt most under 4ft !!

The point I was making was relying on existing players is a no no, but, alienating them is a no no too ?

Also because those games folded by having one income stream, doesn't then make WGTBaseball the way to go, as I guess WGT.Com are finding to their cost ?

Agree the game should be challenging.  But if the game is to hard, players quite and never come back.

Shoe, you stated that newer players to the game have been requesting this, so to speak. Here is a post i made in another thread regarding the putting grid:

Not great at all, my honest opinion on this. I can handle it just about, but we never asked for it. The post that shoe put up saying that new members complained about this is bull. We all started in the same place, and we all learnt how to play the greens. If this is supposed to help new players, then i would expect my putting to improve, but we all know that wont happen, eh WGT?

So you see what im getting at here Shoe?

Your opinion.  Instead of assuming it won't help.... see how it goes for a little while.  Who knows you may be surprised.

We shall see. And stop with the Saturday stuff, will ya, lol.

verified accounts:  You think this will stop the cheats?

I bet it doubles them.  Anything can and will be faked in the world today!

You have people on here cheating for wgt credits!

What do you think they will do for real world cash?

Still waiting for that list of people that wanted larger dots on the putting grid!

And I agree with a previous post about having to learn how to putt on this game and sticking with it.  The putting is what sets everything apart.

Why not just turn the green into a giant hole?

If you think I am going to give you a list of players who made a request.... you are going to waiting a long long time.  I can see it it now.  Here is a list of names go harass them cause they requested something!  LOL yeah not going to happen.

    - WGTdbloshoe

    Oh yeah.................... good call!

I guess this should end all of this.

Thanks for clarifying everything for me

I understand your reasoning there; what I don't understand is how enlarging the dots and making them bright white would make putting easier.  They actually only serve to obscure the line and distract the player.  Putting wasn't broken and didn't need fixing.
