Richard4168:
Come on WGT, make the forums a place of fellowship and camaraderie among golfers who love this game and have a good experience playing. Not a place for a few people to complain that in the end only puts a stain on the whole of a great game.
I get the feeling that many who post here in this forum are either, in real life when not accommodating WGT, are government bureaucrats, students or other members of acdemia, or are posting in from a socialist-communist country where one doesn't dare try to improve their environment because, hey, government/the university/Dear Leder knows best. Here's a news flash for you. WGT is a gold mine of a businss. It has an attractive and enjoyable product that players pay to play with and it sells high-doller advertising all over the site. Its overhead consists of web servers, programming and technical/office staff, and maybe some royalties to pay the various courses. Other than that, these golf balls we're squabbling about represent ZERO overhead to WGT. A golf ball, golf club and all this stuff doesn't reallyexist -- they are a code snips. And you only have to code a golf ball once. Want to introduce a new flavor of Nike ball? Just tweak the code snip for an existing ball, and bingo. Three minutes work for a competent programmer and you have a new all you can charge an additional 100-150 credits for. And don't bother giving these more expensive balls even 0.5 more service life, these sheeple will just keep buying them up and whining about "complainers" who dare point out the money grubbing gouge of it all. I'm a business owner, not a sheeple. I know if my customers point out a problem or deficiency or just plain ol' dissatisfaction in a product, feel like they're not getting their money's worth, the stupidest thing I could possibly do as a business owner is to tell them to take it or leave it, and quit yer whining. The fact that WGT seems to have zero interest in customer/player satisfaction could only mean that they are making billions hand over fist and they really just don't need to give a chit about payer satisfaction. That probably IS the case here, and so long as all the sheeple and WGT shills act as buffer, and cheerleaders, for WGT, they'll feel no financial pressures to improve. Presuming WGT does monitor some of the complaints in these forums, they may at least get some feedback as to when the gouge is about to cause a rupture. So, in that case, Richard4168, asking WGT to police out the complainers so these forums can be placid little flocks of sheeple fellowshiping with each other is the stuff of juveniles who are oblivious to how real life, real business, really works. Me, I'm going to see if I get any sensible response from WGT ("take it or leave it" NOT being considered a sensible response) regarding the pathetic Mayfly-like longevity of imaginary golf balls (code snips) that cost $6 and $7 a sleeve. Seriously, it shouldln't take a whole lot of business experience to recognize an insulting gouge when you see one. And how does the consumer/player fight back if the business thumbs their nose at them? Social Media. Start hammering WGT in Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and they'll assuredly see a drop in new sign-ups, a drop in game play, and other red flag signals about that precious bottom line. THEN we might see some consideration. Money talks and sheeple walk.
