I kinda like the idea. I would absolutely pay a monthly fee if it would keep WGT around. The reason i would is because there is no other alternative to this game. at least not one that provides the mental challenge the way this game does. I would, of course, expect the "glitches" to get worked out. If i was paying for a subscription each month, i would want the best experience possible. I would also expect to be able to continue having the opportunity to earn the free credits. The 5 sleeves of balls per month just wouldn't be enough.

Well CJ, my only concern, worry, fear, is waking up to find that WGT is gone...belly-up. As far as your spit-balling an idea such as yours, implementation of it would be a nightmare and even if it were, giving it a test-drive would be nothing but a chancy guess to prove it may work. Not to mention a program to not disturb the method of gaining new players. The whole affair could be dangerous and in my opinion foolish. But on the bright side, I don't care which way they may roll. I don't ever think about the money or the cost, but I know some do.

I think since this was originally posted....(2 years old) prices have gone up........and were grossly undervalued then!

WGT could not exist on those figures.......and the majority of players would be driven away.

For the pleasure the game gives me....pretty cheap entertainment IMO...and I have control on how much or little I want to spend.

    Chinajohn:

There have been a few threads lately about the price of balls and equipment, many of them negative. There are arguments for and against the current policy and I'm not going to repeat them here. What I am going to do is suggest an additional way of paying that would increase the predictability of your income, and that is paid memberships.

My idea is that you have a pay for membership package of different levels, costs and benefits. People sign up to whatever package they choose and their credit card is debited the agreed amount every month. The details obviously would need to be arranged by WGT as you know your costs, but the idea is the total package should bring about an overall saving for the player and this is offset in WGT's side of things by a steady predictable income.

The following are base ideas only the numbers could be changed according to WGT's costs:

Gold Membership - $50 a month, Free entry to all 'paid' tournaments, unlimited number of balls (non transferable), 50% reduction on all clubs (non transferable).

Silver Membership - $20 a month, 5 sleeves of balls of players choice (non transferable), 25% reduction on all clubs.

Bronze Membership - $10 a month 5 sleeves of 250 credit balls per month, 10% reduction on all clubs.

Just Post your card number and 3 digit code and we will get right on board with that idea sir!

How many credits have you gotten?

16 months ago I had a credit balance of 51,000 (all free credits), earned mostly by playing free credit earning videos for an hour or so every day. At that point I stopped accumulating credits.

I gave up on doing surveys several years ago.

I play 600 credits per sleeve Nike balls and have about the best clubs available to me at my Level. I usually play 1, 18 hole game daily and get 3, 18 hole games from 1 ball, so I buy a new sleeve of balls  every 8 to 10 days.

I'm down to 28,768 credits as of today so I need to start think about building up my credit balance again by playing videos.

There is no reason to pay for membership . Would you pay for membership to a gym or fitness center that was not properly maintained or kept up ? The problem with WGT has always been that they wont listen to their customers . We as players submit bug reports 24 /7 from around the world and yet the problems remain . There are issues with this game that are over 2 years old and have yet to be resolved .

Most of the games problems are resolved by player work arounds . There are players here who are business owners , managers , and computer techs all who have given their in put over the years to make this a better game . Yet no matter the input WGT wont listen . They would rather suffer a loss in revenue than listen to the players .

The result of this ignorance has resulted in the selling of the company in order to remain operational . This company has no excuse for its current outcome other than a failure to listen and absolute ignorance .

I have never spent a penny out of pocket to play this game nor would I . If the day ever comes that I would have to spend money to play then I would quit .  With all of the current bugs and issues that are still unresolved there is no way that I would pay for this poor quality service .

I currently have over 20,000 free credits from doing the Supersonic videos and the carousel and counting . As long as this game remains free to play then I will be here , it will be 5 years this coming June .But I will never pay to play .

Gee that is something. Does doing videos, the carousel(?) and counting(?) ever feel like work since it takes your time just like a job or labor for hire would except you are being paid credits you can only spend here instead of being paid money with the freedom to spend anywhere? Do you feel cheap or like a skinflint being fooled like you are ? Just wondering. After all, it seems like you enjoy playing too when you have the time.

Utter nonsense. WGT listens to their customers. The problem is - a lot of the customers communicating with WGT don't have a clue about how WGT, their computers, or the Internet work and don't contribute any useful information.

True, but what we don't know is how many problems are problems caused by how the Internet works and as a consequence are beyond WGT's control. How well a players computer would fall into the category of WGT has no control.
