Post update question - we can get applause (which i've never seen asked for) but not flags ?

I remember seeing the thread asking for that , so it's nice to see some ideas are eventually implemented.

I understand that WGT may be more focused on making changes to the game while it's BETA to make improvements which benefit all players and adding these flags wouldn't affect most players so it may be be considered less of a priority.

Having said that imagine the uproar if we removed the US flag and they had to adopt Canada, Cuba or Mexico? It's easy not to care when it's someone else's problem.

There's definitely been a strong reaction in the forums and enough threads on this subject to indicate that (even if it doesn't matter to WGT) it matters to those players it affects.

The simplicity of what's involved is mind-boggling. It could be done so quickly and so easily.

I would have thought for a company that's supposedly forward-thinking and wants to keep paying customers satisfied that such a simple request could be carried out without a second thought.

So please WGT, respectfully let's nip this in the bud.

    Totally agree.

The problem now is that even if WGT did include English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Ireland flags the only way you could have one is by going through their verification process as you can now no longer change your country on your account. They did previously state that you would not be able to change your country/flag from April 1st but it would appear that they have already implemented this as at the last update/downtime.

This shouldn't be a problem IF players are actually from those countries, though it does beg the question why have they put in place this seemingly unnecessary process? ...but I'm sure they have their reasons.

If you look at the verification tab under 'account', there seems to be a long list of places that can't be verified?

England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are verifiable but I wonder what happens to the ones that aren't?

Anyway the fact remains that WGT players/customers from 4 countries should have their flags represented! This persistent request is being ignored with no reason given by the folks at WGT.

I can't see that^ as even a remote possibility because the US, Canada, Cuba and Mexico all have their own representation  to the United Nations. Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland are represented at the United Nations under the banner(flag) of the United Kingdom. I still think that's the reason WGT uses the flag they do for those Countries.

What is most annoying is that we can't have our own Countries flag - but there is no problem paying for an avatar from England, Scotland and Wales.  This really is a case of double standards.

What about Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man? They do not belong to the UK, they have their own flags, but they are not in the UN by themselves - I'd guess that a British or Crown body will represent them.

I've been trying to get behind the reason of WGT flag or no flag but I didn't find the point until now.

Most mysterious is Antarctia which is not a country or political body of it's own - it's divided between several states. This makes it difficult to seek legislative or fiscal reasons for the selection.

To me it's clear (sorry, folks) that the parts of the UK have no international standing of their own, just like the US states or the German Länder. Therefore, it's my firm conviction that there will be no English, no Californian nor a Bavarian flag here.

In my defense, I have a Saltire flag in my car window, and I proudly use two(!) pitch mark tools with the same sign. I love your countries!
