Cerino that's a bit rich from someone who bangs on about uneven lies whenever they get the chance,

Time to raise the flag issue once more - WGT we're not going away.

Yes I do bang on about the UEL. I do that because it's game play related. The dumb flags don't do anything for the game play.

If I could remove my own flag to show my indifference support of your issue I would.

If the matter means so little to you , then why keep posting in the thread ?

Getting back on track however , interesting to notice a Scottish , a Welsh and an English flag beside players names in the top 15 leaderboard at the Masters .

Once again , for the sake of realism when can we expect to have the same ?

I'm not missing the point Cerino, I'm making a point. A point reinforced by many other members, hence this topic being a regular forum discussion. I could respect someone who had a counter-opinion with logical reasoning but what I don't get is someone stating that they're just indifferent. WGT not caring about a good many things isn't a revelation, yet the forum is here, and for what purpose?

One of the reasons is to draw attention to these kinds of issues. With all due respect, if you don't want to be part of the discussion you don't have to comment.

    CerinoDevoti:
BTW, shouldn't you have a Chinese Flag to represent the Country in which you are residing at the time of playing this game?

    The short answer is 'No'.

But, the point is made only by a minority of 4 (or even only one: GB) out of 240 country groups with individual flags. In two numbers: These members represent less than 2% of the groups/flags and about 7% (400 of 6000) of the game's Ls + TLs (*) as an indication of the no. of players.

This wee but tireless group provides for a lot of repeating traffic here but that doesn't enlarge their number nor influence. And, on page 2 of this thread we read an official "No plans to change the current flags" as an answer. So, eventually they cared for this plea but declined. AFAIS, this case has been closed.

The general purpose of the forum, IMHO, has mostly been limited to user-to-user support, clients venting and service shutdown announcements. Every now and then the company might catch an idea to enlarge their range of revenue, but public company/user discussions are certainly not the priority.

It is as it is - perhaps better to make your peace with it!

(*) second to the USA with approx. 50% of all Ls and TLs.
    (numbers of 7/13)

If, as you say, this case is closed, why are you still posting about it?

Thanks for your concern, but to be honest, no-one here cares about your thoughts on this topic.

By answering, you show that you do.

Moreover, my thoughts seemingly have so much negative impact on you that you make a spontanous double effort to silence me.

Thanks for the insight - I feel affirmed.

    Peace!

So , the second largest group of L's and TL's are not entitled to ask for their own flags ? ( although the flags are already on the server )

A lot of people commenting in this thread surely must be friends with Icon. Has anyone asked directly just WHY they are refusing to do this? There must be a reason besides "we don't wanna".

I know to some this goes much deeper than just a flag on WGT. We brought this issue up in our CC and it started getting very political. Some members expressing that they hope WGT never got rid of the Union Flag, as they fully support the Queen and the United Kingdom.

One thing this discussion has done, is made me read and learn a lot more than i remember from school on the history of how and why The United Kingdom was formed.

I had fully supported this before. But now the question to myself as an American is, who do i support? My friends that want their flags or my friends that support the Queen and The United Kingdom? It has gotten a little more complicated to me.

Maybe i am making too much of it. I just hope there can be a solution that makes everyone happy.

First of all, I'm neutral towards this question of common or separated flags. This way or that way, I'm not in a position nor involved enough to support any side. Icon's remark will probably be the last we'll hear from the company, concerning this subject. They never talk about reasons. AFAIS, they solved the problem from their side in a typical business way by offering four avatars for purchase (pardon me if I fail concerning Ireland here).

I've been curious long time like you, tigerfan, for some background of the desire here and the flag selection there - no factual answer for any of them, but some new insight into British history and details of the United Nations.

Of course, I hear the wishes and desires and I'd never object to any of these, but it must be allowed to point out some facts which might stand against the demands involved. The numbers I gave were meant only as a closer view to PR's "many members" argument. And, the second largest group still is only 7%.

BTW: I'm looking forward to visiting you and playing golf again in any country on the British Islands!
