courteneyfish: My stats say otherwise
Stats are meaningless in this game, at best they are only a guideline.
Many players like myself used the starters clubs for a year so all my stats are skewed if you compared them to current stats with good clubs.
A lot of players like Jim probably played a fair chunk of their WGT careers with much inferior clubs to what is currently available.Newer players have much better clubs available and much earlier.
Other factors that will greatly affect "stats" include putting - if you cannot putt it is highly likely you will fail to improve your stats, and many players simply quit a bad round - this single handed makes a huge difference.
IMO all shots have a place, it is knowing when to use a particular shot that counts. Whilst a chip shot may work well on a shot over 5 yards, the fact the ball rolls further means the ball will break more if not a straight shot, opposed to a pitch that travels further in the air but this negates any break.
