  No your stats don't say otherwise. Holed Approach shots 94. 94 holed approach shots is not that impressive. The pitch and flop might get you close but they do not get you in that often. The chip on the other hand gets you in the hole much more often. You have put my stats down several times well just look at the difference! 94 holed approach shots versus 402 holed approach shots using the chip quite often.

  My stats are awful because early on I didn't care about my precious average at all and would try very strange things around and on the greens just to learn and have fun. My stats suffered but it made me a better player.

  402 holed shots is very impressive BTB, i wish i had a 1/10 of your skill with the chip shot. Dont get me wrong i still tinker with the chip but wgt's greens are to unreliable FOR ME. So i usually go with flop or pitch, but 402 holed is a testament to what it can do in the hands of someone skilled with it. Again very very nice BTB.

  Dear Mr Besting. Check out how many games you've played against mine. I never mentioned your stats but at least compare like with like.

  And I most certainly would love to see my last 900 rounds. THAT would be a legitimate comparison.  :-)

  There are those who deliberately manipulate their stats. They deliberately aim for rough and sand that they KNOW they can recover from to improve their stats and do this frequently AND advise their friends to do the same. Is this an honest reflection of their ability?

  I remember someone offering that advice, do you Miss Courtney?

  i got 165 and all i do is pitch so its what works best for the player and i might get a few more before i hit 5000 rounds

  Holed approach shots mean nothing about how good a player can chip. Because you holed 402 approaches you think you can chip? Then compare your hole approaches against a player with less than 1000 rounds when you have over 5000? Negative mate, can't compare the two.

  WTF?  I would say scrambling stats would show how good a players short game is no?

  Obviously if you have a good short game your scrambling stats should be good. Short game experts hit ball very close and hole the putt. Which in turn leads to good scrambling stats.

  Or am i missing something here?

  Yes you obviously missed this entire paragraph!

  Nope never missed that paragraph,,,just skipped right over it.

  I looked at your recent scoring history mate. Looks to me your stats are correct. Looks to me your scores and stats go hand and hand. Never seen a player that had a good short game and have a horrid scrambling stat.

  I totally understand mate what you are trying to sell. Just i'm not buying any.

  I have a question. You said you messed up your stats trying strange things around the green in your early days. Are you still trying those today?

  All that matters is that you think you can chip. I see nothing wrong with that. Very good to have confidence.

  Stats time:

  BTBS: 402 holed shots in 5, 209 ranked rounds = 1 hole out every 13.0 rounds

  Courteneyfish: 94 holed shots in 982 ranked rounds = 1 hole out every 10.4 rounds

  YankeeJim:  311 holed shots in 2,703 ranked rounds = 1 hole out every 8.7 rounds

  So in 100 rounds we could expect YJ to hole out 11.5 times, Courteney 9.6 times

  and borntobesting 7.7 times.

  I'd listen to YJ.
