While the SLDR is a very good driver it falls short of the R1. I owned the SLDR  but when I got the R! it had more to offer. It is especially more effective on shots into a headwind due to the lower trajectory. While the stats say it is only 5 more yards than the SLDR there are a few holes where you can clear a bunker or other hazard where the SLDR will fall short (i,e, BPB 9 and Kiawa #2).

Any player who thinks they can keep up with the R1 is only coming close due to using superior balls and not because of the club they are using or getting an occasional lucky bounce.

If the R1 ever comes available at a lower level grab it. You will not regret it an iota.

I made Tour Legend with the SLDR. It's a great driver. The R1 is a nice driver but it won't make you a better player overnight.

Agreed Courteney....The driver doesn't win you matches.....its the irons, wedges, and putters.

And the driver can be helpful, or a hinderance....if you over drive the fairway then what good is the driver??  Its all about playing SMART golf, not trying to be John Daly...and...btw....what has John Daly  done that's worth mentioning in the past 10 yrs...lol

I use the BB now...and headwinds don't hardly affect my shot at all....I use neutral backspin and it stay low and rolls a good distance...its all about how you manipulate the backspin and the forward spin....

In fairness to ev1 who spends countless hours and money's ( credits or real cash) it would be the only fair thing to do.

Are you demanding to lift the level requirements for all equipment for good?

Wait - no - you speak of "fairness to ev1 who spends countless hours and money's", thus it should be kept away from beginners. Is this not the way they do it with the levels?

So, what do you really want? A change or no change? Or, a present especially for you?

My 2 Pfennig: Spend some more countless hours, grant some more credits to our gentile host to get to lvl 97 @1,513,144 XPs, just like all the other players here. That's the way this business is working!

Tough shite about about ur personal issues, but that doesn't forgive ur moaning about the availability of the R1,

I do believe the offer was repeated several months later as well.

Woke up this morning and came to this thread to look at all the wonderful and helpful comments posted. TY ev1 for all the advice.  This will be my last post about this matter, and I'm more than prepared to receive the entire salvo of hate you regular posters are so good at firing off.  Just a thought though.  If each and ev1 of you took the time to place a mirror in every room of your house, it would save you countless hours of the continuous negative jipper jabber I read from you guys. Just think, you could be full of yourself without even having to type a single word.

This is my point. All the drivers will get you there. Even though you made TL with the SLDR you now use the R1.

The comments about over hitting fairways and geeens with the R!  by another poster is totally ridiculous.. The thread was about the difference in clubs not player ability or course management.

We have chatted about this before.  The Black R1 is 10 to 12 yards further depending on the wind.   The only driver that comes close is the new Nike Covert at level 100.     And a majority of the top players who play this game use either of the 2.     Enough said its not an opinion its Fact.

I just recently took a look at the best player in the games equipment.. dantheman   and well he uses the Nike Covert.    Any Questions.    :)

And to those who say the Driver doesn't win you the game.   If you believe that go ahead in your eyes the driver may not win you the game.  But have you ever hit it late or early and end up off the tee in major trouble.    Well lets just say it can cost you a game quickly.      Donnie

The SLDR will not get any one in trouble any more than the SLDR.   It can be longer also for sure but on average 10 - 12 yards at most courses I don't see that.

The R1 may buy a shot every now and then - at best.  Stats wise it's impact will be almost imperceivable.  Don't get me wrong in MP it's annoying to usually (not always as the SLDR is v good)  be behind the R1, and I fully see why people want the R1. Overall though the R1 is a nice to have, but no game changer score wise. I also think WGT need to get the 287 yard drivers down a few levels as it annoys people, and L96 /98 is a long way off from L89.

When I get the to level 98, I'm for sure going to get the R1....until something better comes down the pike, that's the PREMIER driver n WGT.   Do I think its the best driver.....maybe, I haven't used it.  I go by what the top Legends and Tour Legends say...and just like Curteney said and  JimBog...its a great club, but, its not a deal breaker.  with some fine tuning by WGT  that 100 driver just might top the R1.  Then I guess those who live and die by the R1 will be eating crow.

And  if that person who said...and this is the exact way he spelled his words "The comments about over hitting the fairways and geeens with the R! by another poster is totally ridiculous.  The thread was about the difference in clubs not player ability or course management"  Wow.... really???   geeens and R!...hmm....but, I beg to differ...it IS about course management!!!   If you think its not, then I guess you just hit each shot without some much as thinking about them...if it is, then you are really whack.  EVERY shot is about course management.  And that brings in player ability...so to quote you from way back....DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
