The straight downwind drive using BS with the SLDR isn't the bread and butter distance maker in that club, although it does love to take a ride on it, with its high launch angle. I've played it for almost my entire legend time after using the G20 in the beginning. The so called "glitch" of that club is when you have a helping crossing wind - say quartering or less. Then if you time your miss ding and aim to make up for it, you can actually ride the wind for major extra difference. This to me seems to be one of the few times where you can out drive a dinged R 1 black. Most experienced players that own the R1 know this also and can reap the same extra distance by doing the same instead of hitting the ding, not any hidden secret.
The problem lies in that favorable winds only account for a proportionate amount of your drives, and what you gain in extra competitive distance on that proportion of your drives is negated when you face headwinds and cross winds that are hurting. Sorry if anyone was offended by my just wanting to be able to put the shortest possible club in my hand when being rewarded for a well executed drive. I'll just bide my time and hope that someday WGT would re-think this situation and level the playing field for everyone above a certain lvl. I was never asking to get something that was a special offer at lvl 93, but just make it available somewhere along the line
