    Slojoeguam:

In addition to awarding a CC who blatantly cheated first place, the biggest cheater of them all (59 rounds of Best of Putting during the clash) now has the gold putter. I am totally disgusted. Then, on top of that, WGT comes out and based on the post above, is saying that they won't award ALL the participants their earned free passes and boosts in direct contravention to their own published material. please read "ALL THE CLUB MEMBERS WHO PLAYED WILL GET...".

WGT will not get another penny out of me, EVER. I don't care what they come up with or "fix". They basically have come out and endorsed cheating. Oh, but WGT says it wasn't intended. My butt it wasn't intended. One of our club members saw a post from a member of Augusta National CC in this thread admitting they were buying up blocks of passes and giving them out to their members with the instructions to play the Best of Putting. Amazing how that post was deleted within about 10 minutes by the poster. But make no mistake, it was seen. Now, if that isn't intentional, I don't know what is. And the ironic part is, WGT should be able to prove all this but they don't seem to care one iota. This entire game is run by computers and servers. The actual shot by shot results in a game might not be traceable, but who played what, on what date, shot what, won what, earned what for a special event all should be in their computers. I wouldn't be surprised if that ghost post is retrievable also.

I know I may catch a lot of flack from WGT because of this post. Frankly, i don't care at this point. I am utterly disgusted by this whole thing and totally PISSED!

    totally agree as well

So let me get this straight: You KNOW that the winners erroneously got points for churning an easy course in an easy, fast format that was not part of the event and you STILL gave them the prize? Astonishing!

Will we name and shame the individuals involved? At the very least, the person who got the putter should be named so players can avoid playing against him because he will obviously be playing with an unfair advantage.

(If he won it honestly he would be playing with an advantage, but a fair advantage.)

What a load of shite......I may as well play with the auto ding software, because WGT doesn't care a toss about cheating.

Hands up, now.  You've fleeced me and thousands of others WGT.

    Never again,  you fuckwits.

I'm sorry to all the other members of the community,    my language is not normally that bad,   I'm just so very angry at WGT at the moment.

the least you can do is refund all the wasted credits , you cheating lying b******ds.

u said it steve - its what a lot of us feel and have felt for a long time.

would be a pretty cool day if everyone who has read this post stopped paying anything into wgt as a protest at this debacle.

and having read elsewhere it was a cc-sponsored sham - well thats just put the spotlight onto the cc in question and its not so above board members willing to be involved in such dubious actions.

i would be pretty peeved if my club was in 2nd place and this happened.

too bad wgt doesnt give 2 tosses about stuff like this - i guess any publicity is good publicity?!?!

I only looked at this to see who won the putter, I still don't know after checking about ten pages.  It does sound like it will be used a lot.

It's hard for me to be critical as I didn't play in this and anyway it's given me a great idea.

The next time the Open is at St Andrews I'll play Musselburgh (starting each hole with the ball on the green) and claim the win.  Bound to work as I'm pretty sure the R&A don't have a specific rule saying that I can't do this.

Let's see you know the winning team cheated yet you reward them anyway. I feel bad for the second placed team. This whole event was a total debacle.

The old Musselburgh - 9 holes in and around the local racetrack? An awesome course!

Interesting, after looking thru this thread I can say in short:

    1. Cheating was possible, no offense to the winner, they just found it out early enough

    2. Prizes are not handed to everyone who played, which was stated in first place

    3. I'm glad I didn't buy passes in order to pile up more points

So to bring it to a conclusion, it is like it is and like it always was. Just play for fun and forget the rest, as WGT don't cares anyway.

    words fail me.

    1. exclusive clubs is a bad idea, end of. People can only get pi**ed off everytime they lose an RG or whatever to the 'chosen one' who has a wgt supplied advantage.

    2. There is absolutely no enjoyment in winning through spending more time & $. This game was all about being rewarded for skill. When that goes, might as well find game where skill is rewarded.

    3. Paying out to team that exploited game bug is a new low. How to encourage people to cheat ..lol   wtg WGT...

    4. What about teams that spent lots of time & $ fairly. Particularly the team who legitimately won ?
