Maybe you're correct, but personally, I'm not so sure WGT developers can be totally faulted. I mean, when you take into account the amount of detail that goes into these courses (and I'm not just referring to eye candy at the surface, but rather what certainly must go into what happens to your particular ball/ball brand once it hits the ground), this doesn't seem to be something you can just turn out in a weekend. Or a month. There's a ton of programming that goes into this stuff.
OTOH, if you have courses that are a total bear (my bugaboo is Oakmont -- I hatehatehate that course) and avoid playing them, of course your choices are going to more limited and maybe get bored with the ones you've got left.
