If WGT are going to make some sort of STL tier that would be great, but make it somewhat realistic.

Lose the deviation and vem completely for that tier. Instead make it so you must use STL equipment only to play.

Once you hit that tier it's purely average based and handicapped. Your current average and level is wiped. You start over and you must qualify to play in events. Make it so there is no more Level for you, just take it off, it's not needed.

Make it so STL's are no longer eligible to play in any event open to lower tiers. Sorry you want to be elite then you don't get to mix with the mere mortals anymore. Any event, free, paid or otherwise, even AS rounds. the only players you can compete with or socially play with are players within the STL class.

Remove the meter timing system currently used to fluctuate and create random shot deviation and misses in place to thwart auto-dinging systems. It is effective and does work.

All clubs have an effective accuracy rating of 100% with a +- bias of say 1%. Based on a perfect shot ie, hitting the ding. That bias is coded to the meter, not the gear.

    All clubs have 0 forgiveness.

Balls coded the way they're made IRL, spin control, distance wtc.

    Something like that anyway....

I know there are people here who play golf IRL, I do as well, any of those people who have ever used or hit a 'tour bladed' club knows that unless your swing is dead on you're going to have disastrous results time and time again. That's the way it should be for TL and certainly a new STL class of player. The clubs now are idiotic the way they shoot, it's not even remotely realistic in any sense of the word as it applies to 'golf'.

It would be nice if the game were like this at the 'top' level, something to truly shoot and aspire for, but WGT are limited by the nature of the technology IE Flash/AS etc.

    However....

I don't think creating a new tier will make any difference whatsoever here, anything and everything WGT does is solely rooted in the ability to produce revenue. WGT does not care nor do they have any real interest in the game of golf, anyone who thinks that is deluded, truly.

I really think that when PG/PP goes live and is available, this game will die very quickly. Just because it's a paid for game isn't going to matter. It's a myth that WGT can be played and enjoyed without sinking a considerable amount of money into the game. So much so that it pretty much borders on false and misleading advertising.

The only people I think who'll be left playing here are those who just simply refuse to pay for games. Players who enjoy the game and challenges of golf will be gone in an instant.

Even though PG/PP is heads n tails above this game in terms of programming and realism WGT could have still had a fun and great game to play. I would have played both - Truth is you shot yourself in the ass over the last two months by revealing the absolute utter greed which is at the core of your business model.

So ya, STL? Great idea, but you know it's not going to happen the right way. Sorry if this come off as super negative but WGT just hasn't done anything in the last couple of months that throws any sort of positive 'vibe' out there at all. In fact by all appearances, it's like watching the last flaying's of a business going under.

    sayin'.......

    spdemon:

Well personally i could really care less at this point (about tees, scores, or avgs) i just like to play with my buddies and shoot the shite I'll do tournies if I have no one that's on green to kill some time

    TheDuckinator:
I can tell you for a fact that the red tee's are different. I just played a CC tourney using the red tee's on Best of Hardest and shot a 25

And I assume you did that with all the best gear correct, but that was your choice to do so and didn't have to even play it

I like the red or even med tees when i don't feel like using good balls and still want a decent score ( even doing them without a driver and 3 wood is nice) makes no difference if it hurts the avg or not

The par 3 and 5 courses count for the stats and as ranked but not the avg so there is another way to run the stats up too

We agree on most of this. I love playing the red tee's. It's a blast and changes thing up. I would just like to see it not affect your average... That's all..

And as far as shooting 25's & 26's all day long on St Andes & BPB... There are a few out there that can do that but for the vast majority of us, breaking 30 is a great game...

I used to love playing match[play challenge all day long winning credits, losing credits, finding matches straight away, until WGT suddenly turned me to TOUR LEGEND where now I'm lucky to find a game EVERY HOUR, you want to see it from my point of view getting frustrated and getting bumped by even legends with a high win % against fellow legends and even wins against tour legends.  Its hard enough for me to find matches as it is a higher tier would eliminate the only match i'm able to find daily.  Its called matchplay CHALLENGE but it seems players only want to try and find matches where they think they can win easily with out a challenge.   A good move by WGT, i used to be able to win quite a lot of credits playing matchplay all day, but not any more.  So by making tour legend tier and maybe a new tier wgt will make it even harder for us tour legends to make credits in matchplay forcing us to enter ready go's more which give us so little pay out nowerdays because EVERY ONE is scoring low so my 4th place the other day in $5 ready go only gave me extra $1.5 where you could double your money previously.  Whats next on the agenda WGT? ready go passes where the more you have the less deviation you might occur so unless you have bought a $10 pass you will get tough conditions, but with a pass you get a decent round?

Well regardless if they count or not getting to TL is simply playing enough rounds it just makes it easier to do so I would have liked to have that option on my last 25 or so rounds to drop the avg lol but learning these damn greens is a PITA for sure having the option to use tournament ones in the cc is a lot easier imo

I say let them. These faux tour legends may think they are better than they really are. Let them enter RGs. Only makes earning credits that much easier than it already is

sounding like an elitist or something

Yes you are, YJ...don't lie.   LOL !

    @ Duck -

You guys that started in 12/13 don't know how good you have it. Those of us that started in 08/09/10 didn't have the equipment we have nowadays. That fact alone has changed the game immensely.

It used to mean something when WGT came out with new equipment (we jumped at the chance to buy new stuff and improve our games) and our best ball was the Legend WGT GI-SD2 with the super fast meter, no distance, but they did stop on the greens with the Rapture V2 2010's or G-10 PING Iron set. Don't make me get into putters..LOLOLOL....I know YJ. SP and CIB remember those days.

Creating a new tier will do nothing to change paper TL's. Those same players will advance to the new tier and, just like a magician, POOF...there they are. Who remembers when WGT created new tiers in 2010 and we logged in to find we were advanced to some tier we never heard of before?

    LMAO !

Not to be a phallus, but, some people here place too much emphasis on titles, averages, carer earnings, "magic clubs" that aren't magic and irrelevant stats. Play the game as it is...because that's what it is...a game. We aren't in the PGA or competing at the real US Open or Master's for big $$$ and Green Jackets.

Sidebar - Playing the red tees is a good way to lose balls when you're used to hitting from the road leading to the golf course.

    just sayin'...

Ahhh, but the magic of the game let's you think you are. It's all in the imagination and a real average would go a long way to enhancing that fantasy. That's what games are for.  :-)

Your are spot on YJ..  The most realistic game on the net should have somewhat realistic averages...

A real average would have to be converted to a handicap, Jim, old friend.

Can you imagine how many Legends would have better handicaps than us elitists?

Btw - I'm all into fantasies. If you get my drift. Speaking of drifts - I hear you may get some powder this weekend.
