    WGTicon:

    Hi Everyone,

In an effort to continue to make WGT a realistic golf experience, we’ve made some changes to how balls perform when they’re hit from different lies in the rough.

We also wanted to make hitting out of any rough perform more like it does in real golf, game, so please check it out and comment here.

    -WGT

Okay-like "real" golf-well then every lie is different..clump of grass behind ball, a flyer lie in 40-50, hmmm. I have actually hit a 7 iron 180 yds out of the rough when the ball was sitting up-Normal hit 7 about 150yds. Now that's real golf.

do you really want to make this game more realistic?

OK start with your drop areas-who on earth would take a drop in 40-50 rough on a water hazard-eg No.11 Congressional.

Players have options like going back within line of flight-.

More realistic-? What's up with the green speed of 40 on the virtual "stimp" meter. No such animal exist in the real golf world--OH I have more--you did say you wanted "feedback" uh huh.

Un even lies: here's one on a slight down hill lie WGT gives you a reduction in yards-in real golf yu have to go down a club length-to deloft your club-or you may fly the green-in other words take a club with more loft.. In reality playing a punch shot should be about the same as on even ground. (The reason its called a punch is because you primarily use your arms and don't have the full rotation and weight shift during a full swing)

Ball above my feet? everyone has a different way of playing-but what determines which direction the ball goes is whether or not the club face is square at impact-not the relation of the ball to your feet.

But lets focus on the rough-I do think you have made an improvement here-surpirse we end on a positive  note!

Now-give us a drop area where we won't get snake-bitten.

    Thanks

My opinion.  Total junk move by a bunch of guys with too much money and time on their hands.  Why have everyone spend so much time charting shots, spins, and lies only to change it up without notice or comment to players before doing things.  Professional companies give warning and take feedback before shooting their customers out of the water.

Considering what the game could be and what it was, that is the real shame here.  Again, just my opinion, the same as I would have givien it before the update if asked.

Hey WGT .... next time you monkey around with more realistic conditions, do it before a single play second round of a Virtual Tour tournament is in progress ... I was off the side of three greens (in the rough that is) in my second round, and if not for good fortune, it would have cost me more than the single bogey those three produced. And as usually, you had to monkey with the deviations again (VEM for all you unbelievers) ... shots I've had before with 90 degree crosswinds going 8 to 10 yards long or way short. C'mon ... we know you want to get the absurd scoring in control, but giving those second round players that shot before the update an advantage is no way to go about things.

What do I think of the new rough? Absolutely no spin whatsoever it seems out of 30/40 rough?

Why didn't you save that absurdity for 40/50 rough and worse ???

I haven't been in 20/25 rough yet, but it seems like wedges and spin are useless now ...

Might as well play with starter wedges now. How about toning it down some?

And the new green speeds? Well, let's not go there ...

Why does management think they have to go to extremes?

All seems fine to me. Playing out of the rough was way too easy and now it's slightly a challenge. It's about time. Within a week the tears will dry.

Or, better still quit thinking and start reading the forum and install the things that players want instead of the things that you want...start with 18 holes at Pebble then move to new interesting Avatars, new wedges and so on...stop thinking. You are becoming more and more like McDonalds who likewise thinks.

    Hi Don ;-}

Come on Shoe and Icon, this is so discouraging to spend 4 years learning the game and in one night WGT changes one of the most important aspects of the game. Please tell the powers to be to please read the forums and quit messing up our game. This is such a great game, please change it back.

    IRISHPUNK:
Punch numbers are going to take considerably longer though.  I hope they don't change it again though.  That would suck having to do all of this again with how many balls it's going to take.   Now that I think about it... maybe that was their thinking all along?

    ding ding ding!!!
