    Hi

I have to say, this is a hole new game plan. Absolutely no spin out of rough, I am thinking

changing my very trusted ping wedges with starter wedges, lol.

I really hope you'll find the way to keep your 50's up against this new hole game plan.

I can only imaging the pain you feel for this uncomfortable situation.

Being able to play an approach shot from almost any type of rough and have it stop at gimme length always struck me as unreal. The sudden overnight change has come as a bit of a shock to most players and the loss of this ability will be a game changer for some.

It has been fascinating seeing how players are reacting to this news. You can see human psychology at work in the replies.

Now that we have all had a few rounds with these changes in place, where do you think you are on the following progression? -

                        Denial - Anger - Bargaining - Depression - Acceptance.

You know what ... this reminds me of what professional tours in real life did when the z-groove wedges came out. They banned them, made them illegal ... because pros could actually get more spin on their balls out of rough.

Why in the world did someone at the corporate level decide to make it easier to get out of thick rough ? 40/50 and worse? In real life, those types of rough lies are extremely difficult even for the pros to get out of.

I can understand reducing the effect of spin on shots from thick rough just like in real life. What I don't understand is the logic behind eliminating the spin from thinner rough, and allowing players to easily exit the thick stuff.

    • Beach ball sized dots on the putting grid
    • CC Clashes where a putter can be won that is no better than a cheap putter
    • Absurd "giggle" speed greens
    • More "realistic" (cough cough) rough conditions

I'm wondering what fuels the brainstorming sessions at WGT lately?

Just wait the next update mate.

It's not far behind, playing conditions are back as for the days before the downtime break. Maybe they are ready to charge on Pebble Beach and some new features, hope indeed they won't set on a new super slot power energizer feature.

Still not tested it all properly to see personally how realistic or not I think it is, and frankly no great rush.

Some time to think it through though cheats will be falling over laughing at this.  I will probably still do the odd RG, but this increase in the cheats arsenal will likely mean a huge cut back in my play.

I am not some top player or someone who plays loads like some top players, but RGs I found fun. Simple fact is I am not prepared to give this one away as well at most places I an think of.  Therefore just talking about what I like I think they went too far with wedges as it's beyond what the game can support in a fair way.  They could easily tone down the spin on some balls, but that's ball sales so I doubt they need it that realistic.

WGTs choice but if I were in a market place where wagering was offered, and another place was more secure it's a no brainer.  No serious competition currently exists beyond hot air promises though.....

Not being a rule for all makes it a poor change from my POV.
