*** More Realistic Rough Conditions ***

  Shoe was not correct. 40/50 is definitely playing differently, and is found around a lot of the greens. The ball seems to be coming out more easily, but with less spin.

  30/40 is also different on pitches, too much run out. Even punches are different from 30/40, full back spin 100% power & only slightly spins back. This with the CG's & L61 ball. Backspin does NOT work any more from any rough.

  Just comical, people *** because the game isn't real enough - they make it more realistic and you freak.

  i guess it is playing different from the rough now.....

  BPB...  #13 par 5.....7 yards away in 40/50 rough by the side of front pin....i get my z wedge and flop for 13 yrds full back should be all over the hole ? rolls 4 yrds past hole ....hhhmmm was surprised,there seems to be no spin at all now....hate paring par 5's :(

  back to the drawing board :)

  I think part of it is that when you notice the game changes you get called delusional and inaccurate by the usual crowd in the forums, then there is the crowd that finally acknowledges that it did change and states, 'So what??'. 

  So people are wondering 'Did it change?' or 'It did change.'

  Some are recording what changed and by how much, but the get responses as if they are strange. That's a little interesting in and of itself. I say post all the info, I'll test out if it helps.

  LMFAO dedbunny, but it doesn't look like you have even tried the new rough. So how would you know if it's realistic? Spend half a day playing from the rough then come back with an educated opinion.

  people - is it NOT fricken possible to express an opinion without belittling others for expressing theirs?  

  mine is - quit picking on each other - ffs - if what i say to no one in particular pisses you off then maybe you're the unintended target of such comments.

  it's not that damned hard - i'm just as disappointed with people in general if not more so - than anything wgt does to it's game

  Well, i just got a nice example of more realistic rough outs: 40-50% rough uphil. 13 yards to go, just fast greens

  Played my usual 17 y pitch half bs; wel that was the plan, remembered this change and went full bs . The ball went 22 yards

   

  Just was on Olumpic 1, 20-25 % rough, needed 13 yards, no relevant elevtion ultra greens 40 stimp, so i tried the same, 17 yards full bs pitch, which went 8 yards

  One of the lessons here is that if you're going to miss, don't shortside yourself around the greens, make sure your miss leaves you plenty of green to work with.  In that sense the change is definitely more realistic and welcome, really.

  As far as longer shots from rough, those should be unpredictable as regards flyers and less effect of spin applied to the ball.

  Adapt and survive, or fail to adapt and count up the squares on the card.
