Maybe that is the point of the changes, a shot from 40-50% rough should not BE "stiffed", it should hit and roll at least a bit.  Agree with you 100% regarding more realistic bunker play though.

1,200 forum posts seems like that's taking the game pretty seriously.

No. That would be taking the forums seriously. My goal is to match my rounds played with forum posts.

OK maybe the changes to the conditions from the rough still need tweaking, and it sure would be nice if bunker play was more realistic, but at least this is a start. We've all faced practically unplayable lies from 60-70% brush, etc. so at least the site seems to be addressing that. WGT sure should have done more to publicize this, instead they splashed news about the ridiculous new green speeds on the front page.

I've seen a lot of whining about how this will make players have to adjust, they've spent hours perfecting different shots from the rough, now they have to tear up their notes, blah, blah, blah. Quit whining already. When I see people posting stuff like "my 13 yard shot from 40-50% rough won't stop on a dime anymore, now it rolls for a few feet", etc., here's a news flash...that sort of shot should NOT "stop on a dime"...YOU'RE IN THE 2ND CUT OF ROUGH!!!

Then I read where some poor soul shot a 56 instead of a 55 because he didn't realize that now his shots from the rough might actually roll a bit. Well, if WGT wants to provide a more realistic game of golf, these routine (for many players) scores in the low to mid-50's SHOULD NOT HAPPEN!  Has everyone forgotten that these courses are supposed to be U.S. Open conditions?

I believe it's possible to state an opinion and not belittle those that possibly inspire the desire to state it in the first place :)

I have read other suggestions on improving the game in this thread...here's one I didn't read - why are there only two pin placements per hole? It seems like adding more would not be difficult - but maybe it would be?

One of the worst changes I've seen from wgt. Totally unpredictable on pitches & punches. Why did we pay for wedges with gr8 spin when you take away all the spin. These shots NOW are in no way realistic. These shots run out forever & there is no telling where they are going to stop. Why don't you try fixing something for ONCE, instead of PI$ING your customers off.

Hey, you asked for opinions, this is the mildest way I can put it. So vem away as usual.

For the life of me I can't understand why I put all the time, credits, and note taking into proper distances for pitches and punches around greens and inside 50 yards.  At least I didn't get roped into buying one of WGT's bogus notebooks, only to now have to erase all the notes taken, and basically start all over.  The old adage that goes, "If it ain't broken, don't fix it," surely applies here, and  I should add to that  how about just  fixing all the broken things instead of screwing up what used to work just fine.

    well sayd.

makes no sense at all to me  tinkering  with the wedge shots.

I took the suggestion and tried out the changes made to "rough" shots and comment that the changes suck!  It might be easier for the newbies, but they have to learn to stay out of the rough or make rough shots just like everyone else did.  The changes not only affect rough shots, but shots from the fringe and bunkers.  Why not concentrate on fixing the problems of disconnect that are not a problem with the player's computer or connection, but the game?  What about the problem of trying to set up an alt or match game, but your opponent(s) don't get the invite and you have to send the invite multiple times?

There was nothing wrong with the game before this latest attempt to "improve it".  Just one player's opinion, which is not worth much!

Maybe this was done because the next product update (Pro Shop-wise) will include 2000 credit wedges with 7 dot spin.
