    b0geybuster:

I can tell you this if I don't birdie the first 3 holes in the LPGA tournament, it is not worth my time to continue, my best is a 60, leader is 55. Which means with no eagles, you can miss on one hole.  For me that is likely #4!

    I can't waste time if I don't start -3.

    Cheers,

    b0geybuster

I usually go ahead and finish if I don't start @-3 just to get the level points and maybe lower my average. If I mess up badly after that I use the round as a learning tool experimenting with different shots. And as an eternal optimist on the golf course I always am thinking well If I can eagle the par 5's I can make it up. But so far it has never happened. as my best (the second time I played) is a -7 65.Barely in the top 500.

On the Kaiwah course the leading scores are pretty low....so I can only assume the leaders know all the ins and outs of that course over the years they've played here on WGT and  considering many of the holes have a completely innaccurate yardage for a start...and lets not talk about the putting or the chipping from roughs or fringes round a few of the greens, which I'm thinking I'd have more success using a hockey stick because some of the results I get are unpostable on here.

I'm a decent enough golfer in real life and my short game around the greens is pretty good, so while WGT is a decent game, people need to realise (especially real life golfers), quite a lot of the technique you work with on a real course will not work with the virtual online game....it's only a game....better than pacman IMHO.

i should have added....that if people want to keep the semi realistic feeling of the game online then stay out of the bunkers and away from roughs and some of the fringes, because that's when the results of your well timed and accurate hit so often becomes a lottery

    chipping from roughs

I barely ever chip period, and avoid it at all costs if more then a couple feet of the green.  It will come up short every time.

Rather then complain about what you consider inaccuracies, learn from your mistakes and try something else next time.  ie. Flop, pitch, punch or Full shot.

I'm try my best but it's difficult when I get results like this....

Driving off the 5th tee on St Andrews (par 5)....wind is 17mph more than slightly to the left....so I hit a drive on the line... a fraction to the left and the ball lands straight in the fescue on the right without bouncing or running into it. It's these results that purely defy the laws of science that baffle me. I birdied the hole, but that ain't the point.

Maybe the wind changed mid air...who knows?

who knows?    After a thousand rounds you will know. It is tough to score well here but very fun! :)

Also have a new leader in the club house at 54.

I'm thinking it'll be more down to luck.....considering many of the holes are as accurate as George W Bush was with the truth lol...but at least it's more fun than Bush

There is nothing wrong with the accuracy of the game. Simple test - look up the very best players profiles and you will see how consistently low these individuals shoot. This game is known as the most accurate simulation of golf - so you should not expect to be shooting birdies at will without the experience.

I can usually get some credits back on the single play RGs. Only once more than my entrance fee though.

    Try those.

I'm thinking there's a ton of complaining folks here in this forum that will beg to differ....just take a look around.

Don't get me wrong the game's great and addictive as hell and if there's a better online golf game then I'll hammer my bollocks to the nearest wall using rusty nails.

As stated by WGT...the game's still in beta and being a software developer, I understand the meaning of beta.

I'm actually quite happy sitting at tour pro...because I've read too many posts about folks turning master and it all going tit's up.
