We finally found the time to play with Wes, Carlo and Joe. Very good game from everyone with 3 cards under par. Thanks for the fun all. Team USA gets this one 1up.

Looks like a great match from you four! Lots of birdies!!!

Congrats to Wes and Fred for coming out on top there, and to Ben and Russ for their 3&2 win this morning.

Two more points to the US team means the overall match score is as follows:

    Team USA 6.5   |  Team ROW 10.5

The last Foursomes Match resumes tonight at 8pm WGT time (they'd completed the 14th with ROW 1UP on Thursday when the WGT update forced a stop).

And I believe that Wes and Mati are also due to connect today/tomorrow to get their singles match in, the last remaining game of the event.

    Thanks everyone!

We're having the same trouble as in four-balls on Wednesday. ColumbusStorm hasn't been able to stay connected yet.

Finally got connected, and the match barely lasted five minutes.

razza31 hit short of the 15th and I hit even shorter, and then couldn't cash in after ColumbusStorm flopped it to 13 feet. ROW got up and down for par to win. Then I hit my approach on 16 too far left and caught the mound short of the green, running it well long and into the brush at the right of the green. ColumbusStorm hit a magnificent out to 3 feet, but it was all for nought when mkrizan86 poured in a 20-footer for birdie and the 3&2 win.

    mmyers0:
Finally got connected, and the match barely lasted five minutes.

I was eagerly expecting the continuation of the thriller we had 2 days ago and then (after a looooong foreplay, trying to connect) it all ended up in a very unclimactic fashion. Reminded me of my 1st lover (poor thing) ;-)

Wished we could do it again, but I had 7 bracket rounds to play and only 2 hours left, before I had to leave for work. Thank you for wonderful company gents, it's been a blast. And thanks to Corwyn for putting up yet another great event for all of us to enjoy.

Congratulations to Jure and Razza for finishing off their 3&2 win last night.

That takes the overall match score to:

    Team USA 6.5   |  Team ROW 11.5

The last remaining game of the event is Wes and Mati's singles match, which I understand was supposed to start 10 minutes ago, but there has been a snafu. Wes is all set but Mati unexpectedly cannot play after all :(

    Awaiting further news and explanation...

Any subs from the ROW team that would like to fill in and play 18 hole match play today??

    Wes

Wes is awaiting a reply from Mati... who remains green for some reason.

As a standby, are any ROW players available to sub in if needed today? Wes is fairly flexible (unless he gets called in to work).

If Mati doesn't respond and they thus can't rearrange a time (it's ok with me to extend the event deadline by a couple of days if needed for them, but they don't have good weekday overlap anyway)... then I'm fine with a sub in for the match.

I don't think I'll be able to check the forum much today (time to get going on family breakfast!), so please go ahead and arrange at your discretion Wes.

So what is the result of the last game? Did the game happen? But whatever is the result, we have won :D

The game did not happen... nor did a sub step forward to take on Wes yesterday.

Now we're into the weekday schedule, and neither of them have time overlap.

I think it was just one of those irreparable miscommunication snafus, and my feeling at this point is that it's best to drop any further attempts to make that particular match happen...

... however, I don't want the tourney to end on that note, and have invited them both to play another singles match against a different opponent whose time does overlap in the next few days.

That means an extra game for another member of each team if they want one. It can't affect the overall result, which is indeed a win for Team ROW, and just gives us a chance to end the event positively.

On the ROW team, the best chance of overlap with Wes might be with Lou (Daskino) so we'll see if that is a possibility (pending Wes confirming if he wants to play a singles after all), while on the USA team, the best chance of time overlap with Mati seems to be DaveDwingdale (pending Mati confirming if she wants to play a singles after all).
