    How should a 35 x 2 = 70 drop your average of 61.48?

    But, any Par3 and Par5 courses are excluded from average calcs.

    Rule of thumb: Only courses between Par 60 and Par 80 count in ;)

    Not only are they not included in the average, they don't count as rounds towards your saturation point, either.

    I wasn't aware that they were not included in the calculation. Why is that? What is the "saturation point"? I guess I've never understood how WGT figures anything. Interesting to know. Been playing a while and guess there is a lot I don't understand about this game.

    At par 90 and par 54, those 2 courses would skew the already unrealistic average even further. Average saturation happens when you get to a point where your average will only go down. Scores higher than your average get ignored as you plod towards the next tier.

    I think for a TM that saturation number is 50 ranked rounds (exclusive of the par 5 and 3) meaning once you get 50 rounds in as a TM your average ceases to climb and once you get to 61 you'll turn Legend.

    Par 3s of the reds really could take that average race to the next level if they let that happen:)

    This is a cogent explanation Jim. I, at times, can be sharp and yet understanding the concept of having the reward of saturation escapes me. What is the purpose ? What is it for ? What is it suppose to serve and why ? I am daft on this. I don't get it.  ~ SP ~

    Saturation is only a popular term for one specific moment in avg. calculation which appears at each tier.

    The average is calculated of a maximum of <number> of the best(!) scores in one tier, e.g. 50 for TM,. 500 for Ls and TLs. When a player "reaches saturation", he has arrived at this number. I'm gonna spare you the maths ;)

    The progammed purpose is to keep a player in one tier for a certain number of games. Nobody becomes TL unless he grinds his way through 500 scored Legend games!

    For many, the number is much higher due to the average barrier of 60. I for one have 900 L rounds and an average of 66.6 - it would take me forever to become a TL.

    Which is, as I view it, the main flaw of several within the concept. I empathize, believe me, with your situation. Being frozen in that state is a curse. I remember the frustration of being there, you know, having an ave of, say 63.00, firing off a slick 27 only to go to 62.99...0h brother..time for a drink ;-}
