Will anybody ever make it to Champion?

  Exactly!  So you could have had some 70's or even an 80 in there from an UEL tourn. Maybe you played 'tough it out'.

  Anyway - being unsaturated - you hadn't had a chance to kill any of those high outliers. Same as me.

  Now suddenly all the low scores have been excluded - lots of them. You're left with 200 scores - maybe with a low of about 57, a lot in the 57 to 64 range, and then the smattering of high rounds above that which we are killing off now as we replace the low scores that were removed.

  You can have an ugly round and still see your average plummet.

  So the fix will probably be everyone will need another 500 ranked rounds to get to the 700rr supposedly needed to be in Champion tier, and that is only after WGT fixes this problem.

  I didn't want to bring that up, but I agree that's a possibility... Everybody repeats tour legend!

   

  it's also worth mentioning that we do not know that WGT doesn't have another, unseen way of tracking ranked rounds within a tier.

  either way it will not take long to find out. There are a few (crazy? divorced? unemployed?) Tour Legends already approaching 200 RRs since 7/30.

  Sebicu for 1 should hit 200 additional RRs by Monday, and have a low enough average as he was highly saturated. If the Champion ranks are still empty by Monday - it is a fair bet something is wrong!

  I would venture a guess that the formula not only involves ranked rounds and average, but a specific level; which guarantees an extremely high amount of play, hence: (ball sales).

  Sure they will be... & plenty.

  The guys who play all RG's and big credit tournaments will be there pretty soon...& I know some of them ; ))

  I could easily too make a list of the ones who will also be invited to TC in a couple of months : ))

  So there are what, 400-500 TLs?  How many people play the game that are not TLs?  My point?  How many of us actually care about 2 new tiers, especially since it won't affect many people at all.

  Now if the 7/31 update that added the tiers had no impact on the current WGT Fiasco, then OK.  Gogo tiers.  If it did, the roll back the clocks, reset $hit, and get rid of them already.

  Of course people will make it to Champion. Then when there is enough of them, the new clubs, and balls (Titleist?) for "Top Level" players will make an appearance, so everyone can keep up with the Jones's. It is all about selling virtual stuff.
