tiffer67: "Had Hitler put as much effort and resources into invading the UK as he did the Soviet Union, it would have happened. Period."
Charle what you have repeatedly failed to grasp is that Hitler could not put the same resources into Operation Sea Lion that he did in Barbarossa. As I have already pointed out to you, tanks and other armoured vehicles cannot drive across the English Channel. If you think invading an island without air and naval superiority is on a par with charging into a vast country with thousands of tanks etc, you are mistaken.
Happy to help you out on this one though :^)
Had Hitler wanted to invade the UK, he would've, of course, adjusted his strategy and built more transports.
Also, Dunkirk serves as a great example of how what little would have been left of the RAF during such an invasion could not have stopped the ground invasion. If the Luftwaffe could only inflict minor damage on the 340,000 troops and ships evacuating Dunkirk, what chance would the RAF have of inflicting any significant damage on the 4,000,000 troops of Barbarossa? None!
