Rather early or mid April. Just a guess based on last year.

If it's already been mentioned I missed it, but does anybody have any idea which of the two courses at Congressional we're getting? The Blue or the Gold? Which, from what I can gather, are equally difficult since a 2000 renovation and lengthening of the Gold Course. Just curious as I too am more than a bit  anxious about it's arrival and been reading up on it so I do hope you're right <zag> about it being just in two or three weeks.

The one the US Open is to be played on: the Blue.

As far as the timing, the US Open is in June. There will probably be a 9-hole CTTH version of Congressional first, as a teaser, followed by the full course in time to hold extended qualifying rounds for the Virtual Championship, for a month or so, with the finals then played just after the actual US Open. At least, that is how it was set up last year.

Concerning Royal St. George's, I have now come across this news report, via Facebook, stating that there will also be a Virtual [British] Open Championship this year: http://theaposition.com/Articles/41/273/1/World-Golf-Tour-Grows-Prepares-for-Virtual-Opens

According to the article, "World Golf Tour ... prepares to host a virtual US Open and Open Championship this coming summer....  What’s quickly turned into a highlight of its year are virtual versions of the U.S. Open and the Open Championship in Britain.  While the details of this summer’s competition aren’t yet final, things will likely be similar to last year, with an initial qualifying round that lasted for about a month.  The top 156 qualifiers plus ties then played a 36-hole championship, with the winner getting a trip to the real-life Open."

Seeing as the cat's out of the bag regarding Royal St. Georges, an official announcement must be imminent. An update on Congressional would be nice too.

Whoa, <zag>, that seems pretty unequivocal, don't it. Hardly a frivolous little snatch of  speculation by an unreliable source. Does indeed seem a like an unbagged kitty cat.
