Certainly hope you're right! Not the slightest hint of this so far from WGT or the R&A....

Can't see any other reason WGT would be photographing it...Granted, this was dated nearly a year ago, maybe it really does take that long to create a new course...

Thank you, PGA! That is the confirmation we have all been waiting for. Impossible to carry out a project like that and no one around notices. Great work!

Alright you guys, knock it off. You've just planted the seed of the possibility of a second new course this year for stroke play at Royal St. Georges GC?!  Is that what you're suggesting or speculating? Like early summer, just before the Open?! Like the biggest and best surprise that WGT could possibly lay on us?! This could NOT be true. This would be way too GOOD to be true. It would be so very excellent. I do recall, I think, last year at some point WGT promising *several* (?) new courses this year. Would that several  be the two new CTTH courses and Congressional? Or could it mean the above is true? I won't join you, zag, in calling it confirmation but I will allow myself to feel a little bit like a kid filled with anticipation until this gets shot down. It sure would put a cork in all of the " we need new courses" issue.

Fair enough, but it is an outside source, independent research by PGAbound. And the fact that it was last year makes perfect sense, because to release a course this spring they would have to take the shots by the previous autumn at the latest, while the course was at its best appearance. I would say it is proof that WGT was filming something at Royal St. George's. Let's see what it was.

P.S. If you read the R&A press releases from last year carefully, you can see that they do not refer to any commitment for future years, stressing that the Virtual Open is in connection with the 150th Open, etc. etc.

I love how some "players" still find a thrill to insult and gripe at each other, accusing some of multiple accounts, and other childish things. I played EA's TW PC Golf for 6 years, and with the cheating, player bashing and other childish things people did while we as "players" tried to have fun really put a bad taste for the game on a daily bases.

Our opinions are just that, and a level of a player is not an issue, of the courses available for stroke play, 2 of them have been an "option" to play time and time again.

Asking the makers of this game to give us something new to play, no matter what the reason or format, is a decent request.

This should open the insult gates for the childish, and never ending pests that cloud this type of game.

Actually all 4 have the option to play over and over again. You just have to know where to look. You can go to the USGA Championship  Zone and chose either Bethpage Black or Oakmont and play them over and over again.

There are 2 things you must realize about many of the players asking for new courses.

#1 One of the people asking for new courses is a person with at least 25 accounts which is against the T&C that each of us agreed to when we joined. And many of the others asking for new courses constantly are also have multi accounts.

#2 The courses on here are not created by  some sort of CAD program but are made up of in the case of full 18 hole stroke courses many 1000's of High Definition photographs which takes a very long time to do and which costs quite a bit of money. Whether they use film or some sort on memory card and use digital cameras, the cost of the media alone it staggering. Then there is the cost of upkeep on the cameras,They have never in my recollection given us a price for a full 18 hole stroke course, but I would not be surprised if it didn't run close to $250,000. And that is not counting Fees for the right to use the course.  Time and money are what it takes to make new courses . They will come. A little over a year ago there were only 2 full stroke play courses. BPB and Kia. They added St.Andrews front side first in February last year i think then the Backside of St.Andrews and Oakmont in June in time for the virtual U.S. Open. So hopefully we will get 2 more soon. I know Congressional is coming maybe by Jne as well.
