While i wish you all the best with your country club and what you're trying to do Roddy, poaching/attempted poaching of other clubs members is a big no no here on wgt and is frowned upon by many players.

I would suggest you change your recruitment approach instead of sending out random invites to players already in clubs as you have done to some of my members.

I totally agree ! Roddy, you will get no respect until you show some .  I have seen your pending invites , Show a little class .

I invited a couple of yours just to even it up ..............Maybe they want to play with the Big Boys ?

I find it more than a little revealing that you bring "class" into this. It's almost as if you think you're somehow "better"; perhaps royalty? I guess having lived the dream of feudal fiefdoms for so many years you've forgotten what reality "out there" in real life is actually like.

Well, just to jog your memory, it consists of a free market economy and a number of other crazy concepts like freedom of choice, freedom of expression and equal access to and from all, for all.

    I'm well aware that you've been consistently and repeatedly annoying our members with invites every time you become aware of us having posted our ad to one or two of your members walls, but there is a huge difference here;

We do not target clubs; never have and never will* However you've done it 3 times in the last 2 weeks, as have a number of other cabbage patch kings who have posted comments here in what is supposed to be a recruitment thread.

When one of you has the "inclination" to state your case as if to a jury of non WGT players, without them dissolving into fits of hysterics when you come to justify the view you hold, I'll actually take on board the archaic overlay you seem so keen to impose on the game.

But in the meantime, why don't you pop over to my post Fiefdoms & fallacies, and argue your case there; it's been there for 7 weeks and not ONE of you cabbage patch kings or queens have had the "inclination" to argue your point there, NOT ONE; and we all know why.

You haven't got a leg to stand on, so you post here, attempting to sabotage our success. Clubs are allowed one recruitment post in cc corner, and there seems to be a concerted effort to undermine ours. Two months since our launch and we ended up last week in 40th place on the leader board ...with just 50 members.

I'm pretty much done responding to you until one, or all, of you is big enough to have a grown up conversation about it in the right place to have that discussion. And that place has been ready and willing to handle your case for 7 weeks; and I am certainly willing and able to shine the brightest of spotlights on the superficial facade behind which hides a foundation of sand.

    Onwards and upwards,

    Roddy

P.S. What is it with these pending invites? How long have you been playing this game? Pending invites disappear when they are either accepted or declined. Therefore, the ones that remain lay sat with those players, for whatever reason. Perhaps they're not sure what to do with them, or perhaps they save them for a rainy day.

We clear ours regularly from the top, which is where the oldest ones are, but we will always have a sizeable pending list. Thankfully though we know how it works and manage it accordingly.

Hi Rob, many thanks for the constructive criticism, it make a refreshing change I have to be honest.. And I appreciate your opinion. I've written quite extensively elsewhere regarding recruitment, and this "thing" so many call poaching, and I'm guessing you've read it; but if not you can read them here

Whilst I can see both points of view my feeling is that I think you have a right to ask anyone if they want to join your club even if they currently belong to another club, freedom of choice. I certainly wouldn't be thankful of criticism regarding 'poaching' from someone who is a hypocrite. Rob was once the owner of my Camelot C.C. (Not as Kanga but when he was in one of his many feminine guises) and was not averse to 'poaching' players from other clubs as you can see from this statement he made below:

".....There are CC's on here that have definitely heard of Camelot, and are trying to poach.

    I don't blame them for a minute...it’s exactly what I do.

There's something a little more sweet about luring someone away from their current CC to join yours..."

The old saying 'Pot calling the kettle black' springs to mind once again

    Good luck

    Rich

I am an owner of a small but very cozy Country Club and my recruitment is done  mostly through referrals from my current members.

Although I do not  send C.C. invites to  members currently in a club I do not get up in arms if another club "schmoozes"with one of my members. And if a member of mine leaves ...then apparently i did not do enough to keep them.  .

My feathers do not get ruffled if I find another club either advertising on my members wall or sending them CC invites (although it hasn't happened often if ever) .........that is called free enterprise .

I do find though  that using the practice of sending as many invites as possible and see what sticks on the  wall a bit lazy .To have a well founded Country Club with quality members takes time  effort screening and word of mouth.

I prefer quality and not quantity in my Country Club and in membership recruitment.

I prefer to have a smaller club as that philosophy makes my club more user friendly and intimate ..........I can be more available to smaller numbers.

    It's all math .

Number of members..hours in a day days in a week.

    So in summation

    Freedom of Choice

    Free Enterprise.

And most importantly  don't take an online game too seriously.

    Have fun!

    Life is way too short.

    Hugs

    n

    Smiles

    Allie

Well, well, well, Camelot's prodigal son has returned again.

    You stalking me again Rich?

Seems all you want to do on here is discredit everything I say or do.

Maybe I did say what you "quoted" way back in the day, I don't remember, but people's ideas and opinions change with age Rich .... well some people anyway.

You really need to stop hijacking other's threads with your obsession with me.

    Poor guy.

I'm sure help is available, just seek it.

    Rob :))

Does the owner of your club know that you are showing such infantile actions?

You criticize his "poaching" methods yet you threaten to do exactly what you deem so wrong.

You are a director, a representative

Yet you exhibit such duplicity and childishness .

Perhaps your owner needs to  monitor you more closely as I am sure  he( or she) would not want such bad press for his club.

    Just food for though

Two wrongs don't make a right.

    BUT

3 lefts do make a right

    Have a nice day.

    Allie

    And you Roddy.

You lost me with your backlash.

How do you expect to successfully run a club when you falter at the first sign of opposition?

Also I see you invited a club owner to your club..

You both get a time out

    Geez
