Some Legends thought they had a distance gap before, wait until that level 88 Am, TP, or TM gets a hold of this driver. Even has a slower meter.

The difference is subtle. Where the Tri keeps up with the R9, the R9 will keep pace with this one. The meter speed is almost the same as the R9. Legends will appreciate the accuracy increase. TMs and below will not gain an appreciable advantage they don't already have.

FWIW, the new 3w is the talk of the game.

I can't hit the ding with it for love nor money. Too slow a meter speed for my preference. That said not missed too many fairways with it and it does go some...

I'm just thrilled I just bought the level 80 R9, trade in value equals a sleeve of Callaways. Not cool at all WGT. Give me half value right now I'll buy it, only had my new driver less than a week. Not cool. JB

+1 JB, I'm in the same boat.  But since the R11 driver is Lvl 88 it'll take me months to get there.  I'll probly be able to get the R11 a week before the R12 comes out. LOL

Yeah, especially as in the game it says the wood will go for 282 yd,  lol, so u even don't have to buy the driver.

Edit: Actually, the game doesn't display  the name and yardage of the 3 wood (or is it only me?). If you scroll from a driver it shows the driver's name and distance , and analogically if you scroll from 3 iron. If caddy chooses the wood, the place is blank.

Anyway, the wood itself is superb, i tested it on BPB 3 and 7. The 7 with the birdie pin is reachable even with mild headwind. And the trajectory seems even higher than g10 3 wood's.

Edit2: Really, perfect driver, perfect 3 wood.

I'm not convinced the new driver is that much better than the 280 R9. The 3 wood however seems much better value. That bit longer always helps plus it seems to land softer on the greens than the Ping i15 Master, 237 yards.

I'm no Legend, and it will be quite a long time before I arrive there, but this should have been a Legend only club in my opinion.  This was WGT's opportunity to make some things right with the Legend populous, and chose not to do so.

I understand that limiting a quality product to such a select few is not a good way to run a business, but things need to be made right some how. Not to mention that a 282 yard driver, coupled with Calloway balls equals 310+ yard drives on a regular basis.  This is fine if you are sitting at the Legend tees, but it will be the Tour Pros taking advantage of it and driving nearly every other green.

Really, I have no idea where WGT can go from here, as anything larger will just make a mockery of the game and they will have players shooting 27 and 55 every day. 2-3 Eagles per round will become the new standard.

I'm not going to lie, I'm going to buy it when I get there.  It has the same meter speed as my G10, hits 12 yard longer, and the precision to forgiveness factor is crazy.  Combine that with the high trajectory to help clear bunkers and hazards, and I would be an idiot not to snatch it up.  I know that my competition is going to.

    Good Golfing
