I'm not convinced the new driver is that much better than the 280 R9.

The one thing that does make it worthwhile is the High trajectory.

Correct me if i'm totaly off the mark, (havn't even reached high enough to purchase one yet), but if it's a higher trajectory, does that mean it will bounce and run less?

If this is true, drives shouldn't be as long, but hitting greens with the wood would be excellent for stopping ball?

I'm not a legend neither but a TM with low average.

I just played legend friend of mine using the R11 driver, I do have the R9 for 280 yards..... let me put it this way; I normally drive longer then the legends for about 20-25 yards (tee difference), this time, I was driving longer then my friend for just about 5-8 yards hitting the "ding" both, using both, the callas Z.

Great tool for the legends...those 15-22 "effective" yards more will give them big chances to get the second shot closer to the pin, simple!

Wish I could get it now, tho I'm only level 85.

What I do hate of all this is the "trading" price when selling & buying clubs, so blody greedy giving you 10 percent of the tool price when selling it back to WTG in order to get new credits. I was born in USA myself, although this is too american to me.

Well.....take it or leave it. LOL

That can work for or against you Jim, as you well know. I have however had an interesting round there with it in the 18 Hole Kiawah ready go, the one with the high winds.

Were a cynic I'd swear they had some detector sussing out what driver you were playing with. Were it the R11 it gave you favourable winds. Not so much the front 9 but on the back 9 I played approaches into the greens I haven't seen since becoming a legend.

The 10th I drove to the bottom of the hill and hit a 105 lob into the green.

The 11th I hit a hybrid onto the green in 2.

The 12th I hit an 8 iron approach.

    The 13th I hit a 6 iron approach.

Normally I'd be 6 iron, on in 3, 4 iron, 3 or 4 iron. What a difference that makes to your card :^)

I'm just thrilled I just bought the level 80 R9, trade in value equals a sleeve of Callaways. Not cool at all WGT. Give me half value right now I'll buy it, only had my new driver less than a week. Not cool. JB

Ditto on that JB'.....fortunately for me Im still a "low life" TM. Ho-Hum

Yes but the carry is further. Plus the wind is going to have longer to affect it but that could come in handy if you ride winds.

@tiffer-I'm thinking the higher flight and resulting carry is going to help in places like BPB9 and 12 from the Legend tees.

But with the slower swing meter it will very difficult when paired with the I-15 irons. That is the main reason I got rid of my G10 driver to get a meter seed closer to the I-15's. The 3 wood does look inviting though.

The meter isn't much different than the R9. If you hit the R9 you will hit the R11 the same way. The Tri is the driver that actually matches the i15s. The R9 does not have the same speed as the Tri even though the specs say so. The difference between the R9 and R11 speeds is minimal. This is using a Tour-SD ball.

I actually switched to the R9 from the Tri because it was a closer match tempo-wise. The Tri accelerates at the end of the swing where the R9, and now the R11, both have smoother swings all the way through.

This was WGT's opportunity to make some things right with the Legend populous, and chose not to do so.

Legends are like squeezed lemons, WGT already has all our juice.

Ok here is my take on it,If you have credits to burn buy it, I haven't seen a great deal of difference so far between this one and the 280,Like i said credits in hand  then go ahead,Otherwise if you already own the 280 one then you aren't missing much,:)

    Thats just my first impressions,
