Finally able to get in today........yesterday was nothing but errors.

The new Cabo course isn't that bad, but let's say you were a cable company and had 4 channels of HD shows, all the latest stuff.  Do you think we'd be happy with a 5th channel that ran nothing but reruns of Mr Ed?  I think you completely missed the point.  Yes, we wanted new courses, but courses like the ones we already have, not some inferior product.  I know, don't pay to play the course, so I won't........

You could have satisfied 95% of your customers 'desires' for new courses by merely adding 3 more pin placements to your existing holes.  Heck, you've already scanned and photographed all the data.....just plug a hole in here or there.  There are many holes out there with only 1 pin placement that gets really old, really fast.  A few new pin placements would make the course play like a whole new course.

That really should have been your number one priority and would have gone a long way to pacify most of us until Congressional comes out.

Many have already commented on the other issues.....and I'm sure you'll misinterpret those as well and do something else completely contrary to what your paying customers wanted.

Which brings me to the other part of the fiasco.  Right after the maintenance and introduction of Cabo CTTH, I'm sure your servers were overwhelmed.  I tried to get in and check things out, but could only get to 70% or so again, before the errors started flying.  As I've already gone through this a hundred times, I cleaned out all the cache's, rebooted, ran gamebooster, took out the garbage, gave my dog a bath.....etc, etc   Of course nothing helped, because, as we all know, the problem is with my PC, not with WGT's servers or bandwidth.

Finally this morning, I get in and can finally see what all the fuss is about.  As noted by others, during Cabo CTTH, the meter is/was silky smooth; not even a hint of a skip and the video was solid.  I guess not having megabits of HD data to contend with sped things up, I don't know.

Then, since my credits were getting low I decided to run a few RG's to fatten the pot.  No go......3 meter skips in the first game cost me 2 birds and one ball.  Worst it's ever been.  I thought, oh, I'll just load another $20 in the game.  Looked into my account history and was shocked to realize in the 3 months I've been here, I've spent $330 already...on a game...!!...and this is what I get?  The same problems/complaints without resolution?

I've got enough left for one more sleeve of those over-priced Callaways and then I'm off to visit that "other" site where the annual fee is $30 or so.  At least there, the product works as advertised and, although it has inferior graphics, I don't get nickel and dime'd to death every time I turn around.

Loved playing here, the 4 HD courses look great, made a lot of friends -  but it's high time I cut my losses and get away from this money-pit.

successful online businesses rely on having successful business plans which in turn are contrived hugely by at least paying close attention to what the end users (that's us) have to say or would like to see introduced...for if we start to lose interest in this site then it can only mean a deficit in turnover for WGT.

Yes, The, you are right, but on the other hand I for one am not going to lose interest in Oakmont, Congressional or the like just because somewhere else on the site there are some crap courses that I do not play.

I'm just trying to see the WGT trend...and all i can see is that they are trying to milk as much as they can from each and every one of us.

what makes me think this way???

    1. xp boost

    2. callaways from $2.50 a sleeve

    3. new clubs that to be honest we don't really need.

    4. introduction of pay to play courses

    5. no solution to the cash cow ball munching meter.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

I run a few online businesses and my work ethics have always been to be fair with clients that way they will remain clients for many years and recommend friends etc to me.....giving me a steady growth and increased income.

WGT just seem to be out to shaft folks for as much as they can get which will only lose them business in the long run.

I really like this game and do wish WGT well.....but will warn them not to try and be over clever....because online businesses can be easy come easy go.

Right now the only real competition is TWO.....but that could change sometime in the future leaving WGT's coat hanging on a shaky nail. If another golf site was to emerge offering the same quality graphics as WGT or even close...but with the same set up as TWO (20 courses...no meter issue  for a membership fee) then I think WGT would be in serious trouble.

Just played  the CTTH and got my 880 points. I wouldn't play on mickey mouse graphics even if it was for free. NOT the way to go.

2 new HD courses, shot shaping, stance and lie, more pin and tee position and we'd be fine. Even with a shaky meter.

This was the best solution we could come up with to bring you more courses faster. More courses was the number one request by the players.

A clever manipulation of words to legitimize what you're doing. Nobody here requested resurrected Links courses. The demand has been for more of the product you have-HD courses. The "HD" was implied in all of those requests given that this is what has attracted everybody here.

My own personal hope here is that the TruCourses affair becomes a subset of the original WGT product-a separate arm of the company, if you will, that allows the HD "arm" to thrive. It would probably be naive of me to think the HD version would be free forever and  given the difficulties with the meter,  I can see why WGT would be hesitant to charge for playing the HD versions now. If they ever do fix the meter problems then it would be worth a membership. In the meantime it's status quo for the main event.

    rofl.....

you make it sound like there was a poll carried out or even that we were asked about what we'd like to see happen.

surely the place to discuss this would have been on the open forum instead of the cloak and dagger behind closed doors decision you've made.

it's more of a shafting than anthing else IMHO

without players & paying players particularly....WGT would be nothing.......you'd do well to remember that fact.

Wow...40 odd pages sofar, now that is incredible... I hope that Wgt will listen to people power, if they still can...hmmm

Jim has said a few good points here... which got me thinking (yes I do think...lol)

Lets all think outside the square here...

    - The new TruGolf courses become free to use

    - The Old/New HD quality courses become Green Fees/Membership

Now the only way a membership works is no meter problems and that means more reliable systems that Wgt will have to get to cater for the peak times!.... Membership Fees also will be free of Adds.. which will make the Loads faster too.

Yes you can hit me now...lol... If you think about it... it's not too radical....

You are so right easy. The price of good balls and clubs should well pay for the site.Instead of bringing this new stuff in. Why don't you improve what we have. There are still many glitches in the alternate shot game, in which is the only reason I continue to play on this site.  We may have to all come together and boycott the game until they quit shafting us.

Ha...I just logged on for the first time in a couple of days...and this is what I find.  I have to say I think WGT got an answer from it's public.  After reading the first 10 pages in the thread I had a general idea of what the new pay to play course is like...so I won't be wasting a buck on playing it that's for sure.  I might play the free CTTH game just to take a bit of a tour...but I think I've given enough to WGT in balls, clubs, and RG's.

    Good Golfing,

The beauty about this game is... ya get up to the tee and go whackkk.. depending how good you are with the game or how your mind is thinking at the time, not forgetting how your finger is...lol, it's nice and easy.

I like the Shot Shaping( hook, slice), different Pin and Tee Positions....but the Stance and Lie might get too technical for my liking...The latter is too much to think about.

    cheers
