I like the idea of having  (trugolf) courses) to play with the clubs we have, and it seams to work just fine. the price is way to much tho, how about putting the trugolf courses in the pro shop where you can pay one price like 3or4 bucks for the course and play them when ever you want. plus you can gift them to other players. Hopefully this will help WGT work on more of there own courses and inprovments to there game. like, pins and all that other stuff.

    TruGolf Poll

    KEtWUZBza9

I just voted... current poll results are 91% nay, while 9% say they would pay..

I'm Surprised that almost 1 out of 10 are in favor paying greens fees ..

as a business i'd be more concerned about the 91% who said they wouldn't.

i dare say if i'd asked the question "would you mind if someone came up to you in the street and helped themselves to the food you were eating...10% wouldn't mind"....that's the nature of polls.

at the end of the day no one is being forced to pay the green fee so it's not all bad. i trust WGT to stick by their promise of maintaining the free courses because that's where the vast majority of their profits are.

Not yet, but why do all the regular courses have the True-golf option..?  That scares me....

Once pay to play is accepted for trugolf courses and becomes an everyday thing here at wgt the next logical move is to charge for the hd courses that are currently free. They will be more expensive than the trugolf courses because this is A BUSINESS.....and they are a better product. Call me cynical but rather that than naive.

There will not be a WGT if that happens.....It'll piss people off so bad they will leave like rats on a sinking ship.

    Out-freakin'-standing point Spacklero.

If I may draw an analogy or two:

    1) The Golden Gate Bridge was finished in 1937.  At the time, the powers that be informed the general public that there would be a toll of 25¢ for 2 wheeled vehicles to pay for the $35M bond to complete the bridge.  They had said that by 1970, the tolls would have paid for the bridge and that travel would then be free.  (source)

Today, the GGB is removing all human toll-takers, hiking the tolls to minimum of $6, and making it a general pain in the behind to cross without sucking your wallet dry because they have no money.

    2) In 1862, President Abraham Lincoln created the Office of Internal Revenue to pay expenses associated with the Civil War.  (source)

Guess what?  The Civil War is long since over and we're still paying the IRS.

The point?  Simple.  Once an entity, being  the GGBA, IRS or WGT, finds a way to start a revenue stream, it will do EVERYTHING in it's power to keep that stream flowing.
