    Hi WGT and All,

WOW - a lot of negativity hear lol. I think sometimes we forget what we use to play on before we had such an animal as HD graphics. I enjoyed playing all those PC golf games, the graphics weren't the be all and end all of the game to me.

I've just had a free hit on the CTTH comp, and to be quite honest, I'm going to buck the trend here - I didnt think it was as bad as everyone was making out.  As WGT have said, its just another option for people to play, its the individuals decision on whether to pay the green fees or not.

OK - the graphics are not HD, but then I'm more interested in the playability factor, and it seems to play very similar to the existing HD games we have. One thing I noticed -  the meter was absolutely perfect.

Whether I'll pay 150 credits for a round, I'm not sure - I doubt it to be honest, thats my call though. But if it makes WGT money, and thats what they need to keep this whole show on the road - then I hope it makes them a ton.

I've been here almost 3 years now, I dont play as much as I use to, other priorities at the minute - however the one thing WGT has above all other games is obviously the great HD graphics. I personally, like a lot of players - am quite happy to play the existing courses, I have a lot to learn and improve on yet. If they can add, one or maybe two HD courses each year - that to my mind would be fantastic, considering the time and cost of putting a course together.

So - it will be interesting to see how the TruGolf goes. I think its going to be very difficult for them, however I wish them all the best with it.

    Cheers

    Doug

Just to make a few points here.

1: WGT has already signed the deal, so its here for the forseeable future.

2: I havent heard of 1 player say the meter sucked on this yet. Its obvious that WGT have switched off that particular button, so players cant bring up the argument off paying for a game with meter glitches. It would only be a matter of time before the meter spikes would happen again if the trugolf game was accepted with open arms. In my honest opinion, some players are lucky enough to get away with this (chosen by WGT) so that they can put it out there that its us fools who have the problem.

3: Why would WGT make the option of playing the other courses in this mode?

4: They must have known this was going to create a major outburst, paying for lower quality, so why carry on with it?

5: And the big 1 for me, has TWO bought into WGT in some way, hence what we are seeing? Because something isnt making sense here.

It seems more like the old stash of courses for Links, which was killed off by TWO, are going to rolled out again--a creaky sound, wafting of mothballs and such.

Nostalgia is big business over this side of the pond at the moment, sweets from my childhood re-appearing on the shelves and all that. WGT must have got wind of this, lol.

Indeed, recently there was a nostalgic thread on WGT about Links (http://www.wgt.com/forums/p/42051/241817.aspx#241817), but grimaces all around if they thought we really wanted to go back to that world! (Devil's Island? Say no more.)

    WGTadmin:
Because TruGolf courses are licensed, WGT needs to charge players a greens fee for Cabo and future TruGolf courses, as follows:

What may be a lucrative business arrangement seems a slippery slope in my view.  While it's possible this new format may provide additional courses, I'm hoping this won't be a trend that  eliminates HD courses all together.  Of course, WGT is a business and they'll do what is best for them.  For us players, what we 'DO', at this point, may be more important that what we say.

successful online businesses rely on having successful business plans which in turn are contrived hugely by at least paying close attention to what the end users (that's us) have to say or would like to see introduced...for if we start to lose interest in this site then it can only mean a deficit in turnover for WGT.

i for one will never even contemplate paying for goofy golf.....i've spent around $800 in less than a year on clubs and balls alone.

Yes, The, you are right, but on the other hand I for one am not going to lose interest in Oakmont, Congressional or the like just because somewhere else on the site there are some crap courses that I do not play.
